Memorial of Saint Helena | August 18

Today, we joyfully commemorate Saint Helena, a faithful Christian and the mother of Emperor Constantine the Great, who is traditionally honored for her role in the discovery of the True Cross of Christ.

According to Christian tradition, Saint Helena traveled to Jerusalem and sought the Cross on which our Lord Jesus Christ was crucified. The discovery of the Holy Cross became a lasting testimony to her deep faith and devotion to Christ.

On this Memorial of Saint Helena, we also celebrate the original Barangay Feast Day in her honor, giving thanks for her example of faith, perseverance, and love for the Holy Cross.
