WHAT IS A CATHOLIC HEART?

A Catholic Heart is a heart formed after the Sacred Heart of Jesus. (CL, 33)
A Catholic heart is one that finds meaning in sacrifice. For a Catholic, suffering is a gift, an opportunity to grow in faith, hope and love. Despite our sufferings, we ought to bring joy to others.
Unfortunately, we only have broken hearts and not Catholic Hearts. A Catholic Heart is not self-centered; it does not bear broken-heartedness to seek attention and pity.
Instead, a Catholic Heart endures pain not for its own sake but for the good of others. Fully aware that our mission is to be Christ's disciples, we will experience pain and persecution. A Catholic Heart, following the Sacred Heart of Jesus, perseveres despite the pain. (4/30)
