"Let's talk about church in the new normal"
Since people in communities had been quarantined for months, now that mass gatherings are prohibited, most of us intend to adapt the life style in isolation and lockdown, as well as complying to the emerging protocols given by the government.
With the implemented protocols of the government and the Church Majesterium, parishes start making ways on how they will follow these guidelines.
According to the news, in General Community Quarantine (GCQ), 10% of the church capacity only are allowed, while in Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ), 50% of the church capacity are allowed to operate already.
Sanitation before and after every Mass, thermal scanning and alcohol spraying to people attending the Mass, floor markings for sitting arrangement and falling in line with physical distancing, receiving communion by hand, the traditional "pagmamano" and holding hands in The Lord's Prayer(Ama Namin) are all prohibited due to safety measures, these are the New Normal for all the participants of the Mass.
But with all of this, what's more interesting and more important is the act of all Faithful to continue in connecting to God, continue meeting other faithful souls and reaffirming their faith by praying, and doing apostolate works to others.
Covid-19 affects us so much, but brave young people continues to volunteer in helping the church because persons under 21 and senior citizens are still not allowed to go out of their houses (21-59 are only allowed to go out). Nonetheless, the Church has it's way, The Church with their communication/media team provides live streaming of masses for people that are not capable in attending the mass due to the existing protocols.
God is still good in us!
God will always make a way!
Worshipping is sacrificial!
