𝙆𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙖 𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙜𝙮𝙪𝙙 𝙨𝙞 𝙃𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙠𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙤?

Mga igsoon, karong adlawa, dili lang nato pangutan-on ang atong kaugalingon, “Kinsa si Hesus?” Kay basin kabalo na ta sa tubag. Si Hesus mao ang Anak sa Diyos, atong Manluluwas, atong Ginoo.

Apan karon, himuon nato kini nga mas personal:

“𝑲𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒂 𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒈𝒚𝒖𝒅 𝒔𝒊 𝑯𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒔 𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝒌𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒌𝒐?”

Is He simply someone I know because I hear His name every Sunday? Is He someone I pray to whenever I have problems? Or is He truly someone who has a place at the center of my life?

Mga igsoon, importante kaayo nga makaila ta kang Hesus—not only with our minds, but more importantly, with our hearts.

Please take a moment to reflect on a beautiful piece from Fr. Richard’s homily this 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time and allow its message to speak personally to our hearts. May it deepen our understanding of who Jesus truly is in our lives.

Happy Dedication Anniversary, Sta. Maria de la Candelaria Parish!

Today, we joyfully commemorate the Anniversary of the Dedication of our Parish Church and the Consecration of its Main Altar. We give thanks to God for His abiding presence in this sacred place and for the countless blessings He has bestowed upon our parish community.

We prayerfully encourage all parishioners to join the Novena Masses in honor of our Second Patron, St. Ignatius of Loyola, as we prepare to celebrate his feast day on July 31.

The Novena Masses will be held from July 22 to July 30. Let us deepen our faith by following the example of St. Ignatius—a life of humility, discernment, and generous service to God.

As a sign of our thanksgiving, let us joyfully gather and pray together throughout these sacred days.

And finally, the SIDLAK Seminar has come to an end.

SMC-KOA expresses its heartfelt gratitude to 𝑭𝒓. 𝑴𝒂𝒙 𝑪𝒆𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒔, 𝑺𝑺𝑱𝑽, for gracing our Culmination Day as our guest speaker and for leading the spiritual formation talk that deeply inspired our altar servers. Your words have strengthened their understanding of service, and the sacred calling of serving at the altar.

Special thanks as well to 𝑺𝒆𝒎. 𝑺𝒆𝒅𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒌 𝑭𝒂𝒄𝒊𝒐𝒍 & 𝑩𝒓𝒐. 𝑱𝒐𝒉𝒏 𝑷𝒂𝒖𝒍 𝑨𝒔𝒈𝒂𝒍𝒊 for generously sharing their personal experiences, and journey as altar servers. Your testimonies have become a source of encouragement and motivation for these young individuals as they begin their own path of service.

As the seminar concludes, we send our altar servers forth not as the end of their formation, but as the beginning of their mission. May they carry with them a heart rooted in humility, discipline, and love for the Holy Eucharist. Let this be a reminder that service at the altar is not just a task, but a sacred privilege and a lifelong calling.

May they continue to grow in faith, remain faithful in their duties, and always find joy in serving the Lord with reverence and sincerity.

𝐒𝐈𝐃𝐋𝐀𝐊 | 𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐊 𝟑 | 𝐌𝐀𝐘 𝟑𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

The third talk of the SIDLAK Seminar centered on the liturgical and sacred objects used in the celebration of the Holy Mass. Led by 𝘽𝙧𝙤. 𝙎𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝘿𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙜𝙙𝙪𝙜, the session introduced the participants to the names, functions, and significance of the various sacred vessels, vestments, and liturgical items found within the Church.

Through the discussion, the altar servers gained a deeper understanding of how these sacred objects contribute to the dignity and solemnity of the liturgy. More than simply identifying the items used during Mass, the participants were encouraged to appreciate their spiritual significance and the reverence that must accompany their use.

The session served as a reminder that every detail of the liturgy has meaning and purpose. As servants of the altar, understanding these sacred objects helps foster greater responsibility, attentiveness, and devotion in carrying out their ministry.

𝐒𝐈𝐃𝐋𝐀𝐊 | 𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐊 𝟐 | 𝐌𝐀𝐘 𝟐𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

The second talk of the SIDLAK Seminar focused on deepening the participants' understanding of the Holy Mass and its different parts. Led by Bro. Kent Manticahon and Bro. Albert Jagonal, the session provided valuable insights into the beauty, meaning, and significance of every moment of the Eucharistic celebration.

Through their discussion, the altar servers were guided to appreciate that the Holy Mass is not merely a routine gathering, but the highest form of worship where Christ becomes truly present among His people. The speakers emphasized the importance of understanding each part of the Mass, enabling altar servers to participate more actively, reverently, and meaningfully in the liturgy.

As servants of the altar, the participants were reminded that knowing the Mass goes beyond memorizing responses and movements—it involves recognizing the sacred mysteries being celebrated and allowing these truths to shape their faith and service.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | 𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐀𝐑 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒' 𝐒𝐘𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐈𝐔𝐌

The “𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙩. 𝙋𝙖𝙪𝙡 | 𝙏𝙐𝙆𝙊𝘿” from 𝙎𝙩. 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙌𝙪𝙖𝙨𝙞 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙝 in collaboration with the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro conducted a meaningful symposium for altar servers centered on the importance of praying the Holy Rosary and living a life rooted in prayer.

The gathering served not only as a learning opportunity, but also as a moment of spiritual reflection and renewal for the youth. Through the talks and sharing sessions, the participants were reminded that serving at the altar goes beyond fulfilling duties inside the church—it is also a call to deepen one’s relationship with God through prayer, discipline, and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

May this symposium continue to inspire young servers to become faithful witnesses of Christ, carrying the values of humility, service, and prayer in their daily lives. 🙏🏻

𝑺𝑰𝑫𝑳𝑨𝑲 | 𝑻𝑨𝑳𝑲 1 ✨

The first talk of our seminar centered on the true identity and calling of an altar server. Led by SMC-KOA President, Paul Kenneth Basalo, the session highlighted that serving at the altar is more than simply fulfilling a role inside the Church — it is a sacred vocation rooted in faith, humility, discipline, and love for God.

Through his inspiring talk and personal sharing of experiences, the participants were encouraged to understand the deeper meaning of service and the importance of having a sincere heart as an 𝘈𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘥 𝘴𝘢 𝘏𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘯. He emphasized that altar servers are not only assistants during the Holy Mass, but also young witnesses of Christ who are called to serve with reverence, commitment, and responsibility.

The session reminded everyone that true service begins within the heart — a heart enlightened by faith and willing to answer God’s call with joy and dedication.
