What's In The Heart Of A Believer?
Text: Rom 1:7-15
Introduction:
Paul’s letter to believers in Rome reveals his heart—filled with gratitude, prayer, submission, and love. He starts by greeting them as saints loved by God, reminding us that sainthood isn’t just for the dead, but for all living believers.
Key Points:
Grateful Heart:
Paul thanks God for their faith, showing gratitude even amid problems.
“Give thanks in all circumstances..." (1 Thes 5:18)
Praying Heart:
He constantly prays for them, emphasizing prayer as ongoing relationship with God.
“Do we pray more than we worry?” (Matthew 6:25-34)
Submissive Heart:
Paul seeks God’s will in his plans, showing humility and obedience.
“Is this God’s will?”
Unselfish Heart:
His desire is to strengthen others, not just receive.
“I long to see you...”
Persistent Heart:
Despite obstacles, Paul keeps pursuing his purpose.
“I planned many times...”
Obligated Heart:
He feels a duty to share the Gospel with everyone.
Final Reflection:
Like Charles Plumb, who thanked those who packed his parachute—have you thanked the people who support you spiritually, emotionally, and mentally?
Let’s encourage each other:
“Thanks for packing my parachute!”
