ANNOUNCEMENT: THE WASH DNYI YOUTH CAMP 2026 CANCELLED

Our district leaders raised important concerns regarding the current economic situation, especially the effects of inflation and the sudden oil price increase. Because of this, the MLDNYI Council took time to reflect, pray, and carefully look at the realities we are facing today.

After evaluating the situation together with the guidance and recommendation of our district leadership, led by DS Ernesto Gono and our DNYI Council, we have decided to CANCEL THE DNYI YOUTH CAMP 2026.

The continuing rise of prices may greatly affect our local churchesโ€™ ability to participate and could also compromise the quality of the camp due to increasing costs in transportation, food, and other logistics.

We understand that this may bring disappointment, especially for our local NYIs who have been excited and preparing for this camp. Please know that we truly recognize your anticipation and efforts. Nothing you prepared is wasted. We still believe in the vision of Youth Camp. Perhaps this season is not about cancelling the vision, but allowing God to lead us toward something better, wiser, and more sustainable. What feels like a delay may actually be Godโ€™s way of preparing something greater ahead.

As people of faith, we trust in Godโ€™s provision. We believe no economic obstacle is greater than our God. At the same time, we are called to exercise wisdom and good stewardship over the resources entrusted to us. With this, the DNYI Council encourages all local NYIs to maximize this year for preparation and fundraising as we prayerfully look forward to a stronger Youth Camp next year.

Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and prayers. Let us continue praying for our nation, our district, and the future events God is preparing for us.
