PH secures P56.3-B investment, 10,300 jobs during Japan state visit, says DTI

•From May 26-29, 2026 President Bongbong Marcos, his wife Liza Marcos and other Philippine delegates visited Japan at the invitation of Japanese government.

• Philippines engaged on business meetings with 4 Japanese Companies namely: Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd., Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd., MinebeaMitsumi, and Tsuneishi Group Corporation.

•According Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Maria Cristina Roque MinebeaMitsumi has invested P30 billion and the Tsuneishi Group Corporation has invested P10 billion and is awaiting the President’s approval for its shipyard in Balamban, Cebu. “So, this is a total of Php 56.3 billion and 10, 300 jobs”, Roque said.

LOWER FUEL SURCHARGE for June 1-15 2026

• The Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) announce for lower of the surcharges of both domestic and international flight for the cost per barrel eased from $179.46 down to 159.85.

• For domestic flights may pay fuel surcharges ranging from Php 423 to Php 1,234, lower than the previous Php 491 to Php 1,436 bracket.

• For International flights may pay fuel surcharges ranging from Php 1,396.74 to Php 10,385.42 depending on the destination and distance traveled, lower than the previous Php 1,621.42 to Php 12,056.

SENATOR JINGGOY ESTRADA to be committed at Payatas jail

• The sandigang bayan Fifth Division’s clerk of court confirms that Senator Jinggoy Estrada will be committed to the New Quezon City Jain in Barangay Payatas.

• Aside form Estrada, those ordered arrested are former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Manuel Bonoan and former DPWH Engineering Officials from National Capital Region (NCR) namely assistant District Engineer Denryl Caesar Cortuna and district engineers Manny Bulusan and Arturo Gonzales

• The Sandigang bayan Fifth Division issued an arrest warrant against Estrada and his co-accused for non-bailable plunder and graft cases.
