Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

2 Corinthians 1 :3-4

When we go through trials and tribulations, the comfort that we receive from God isn't just for us alone. After enduring tough situations, we are able to testify God's goodness in such moments, and in those moments, we are able to reach out and encourage those who go through trials similar to us. God's comfort overflows in us and pours out onto those that we have an opportunity to lead and counsel.

Prayer :

Dear God, I am grateful for Your mercies and Your comfort that keep me going in times of great trials and tribulations. I know that Your comfort won't just minister to me but to everyone else I come into contact with, who may be experiencing a situation I have overcome. I thank you, Lord, that in such times I will be able to reach out to them and minister effectively. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Dear God, please give me wisdom about the friendships I develop here on Earth. Allow me to minister to others, but protect me from becoming joined together with unbelievers. Help me to avoid any influences that turn me away from you. May I live my life filled with your light so that those living in darkness do not even try to pull me away from you, O Lord. In Jesus' name, amen.

My Redeemer and Father, whose Heavenly wisdom sees all I think and do, and from whom I cannot hide my heart. Grant me Your love once again, as I ask for forgiveness for the sins I have committed. Grant me mercy once again for the wrongs I have perpetrated. For I beg for Your forgiveness Lord, and know that Your mercy is infinite, and from which I may drink as from a well that never dries. Amen.

Fix our thoughts, O God, on the pursuit of holiness, of your Kingdom, and of your glory. And in so far as we labor for treasures, let it be for Heavenly, eternal treasures; not for earthly, temporary things. Let us use the things of this world as we need and in your service, but let our whole purpose be directed to things above. Amen.

Let us labor not to be rich, but that we might have enough to take care of our own needs, those of our family, and to give to others in need. Lord, let not the love of money, which is a root of all kinds of evil, hold sway over our hearts and minds. You have made us rich in the true blessings. Help us therewith to be content. Amen.

I must admit that I selfishly think about myself a tremendous amount, often neglecting to think of the ultimate sacrifice that Christ made for you and me. I want to honor his sacrifice and this verse reminds me to do so more than any other.
