Prayer for Protection During the Heavy Rains

Heavenly Father,

As heavy rains continue to affect some areas of our country, we humbly ask for Your protection and guidance.

Bantayi an tagsa-tagsa nga pamilya, labi na an mga naapektuhan han kusog nga uran, baha, ngan iba pa nga mga peligro nga dulot han panahon. Tipigi hira tikang ha bisan ano nga kadaot ngan hatagi hin kusog an mga nag-aatubang hin kakurian hini nga mga panahona.

Fill our hearts with peace and give us the courage to help our neighbors who are in need. Bless our frontliners, volunteers, and local leaders as they serve their communities with dedication and compassion.

May Your loving presence be our shelter amid the storm, and may we always place our trust in You.

Please continue to watch over all our fellow Circulo Barugueños around the globe. Keep them and their loved ones safe, healthy, and always under Your loving care.

The rich young ruler seemed to have everything: wealth, morality, status, and a desire for eternal life.

He came to Jesus with a serious question: “What good thing must I do to have eternal life?”

Jesus reminded him of the commandments, and the man confidently said he had kept them. But Jesus then touched the one area of his life he wasn’t willing to surrender: his wealth.

Jesus told him to sell what he had, give to the poor, and follow Him. The man walked away grieving because he had great possessions.

The problem wasn’t simply that he was rich. His possessions had become something he loved more than obedience to Jesus.

And that is what makes this story so uncomfortable.

We may not have the same struggle with money, but we can have our own “riches”—a relationship, a dream, comfort, reputation, control, success, or anything else we refuse to place in God’s hands.

Sometimes, Jesus doesn’t ask us to give up something because that thing is inherently bad. He asks us to surrender it because nothing should have a greater place in our hearts than Him.

Because what we refuse to surrender may reveal what we value more than Jesus. 🙏🏻🤍
