As the Holy Mother, the Church, rejoices as a new shepherd, father, and guide has been elected for her, join us as we relish the moment Cardinal Domenico Mamberti, the Cardinal Protodeacon, announced to the world the words: "HABEMVS PAPAM!"

At 9:45 AM, Cardinal Kevin Farrell, Camerlengo of the Apostolic Chamber, announced the death of Pope Francis from the Casa Santa Marta with these words:

β€œDearest brothers and sisters, with deep sorrow I must announce the death of our Holy Father Francis. At 7:35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the house of the Father. His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and of His Church. He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with fidelity, courage, and universal love, especially in favor of the poorest and most marginalized. With immense gratitude for his example as a true disciple of the Lord Jesus, we commend the soul of Pope Francis to the infinite merciful love of the One and Triune God.”

Let us pray for the soul of Pope Francis, our beloved Holy Father. May his memory be a blessing, and may he now rest in eternal peace. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.

May we all, inspired by his life and legacy of faith, service, and humility, strive to live lives worthy of the Gospel. Let us offer our prayers and condolences to the Catholic Church and the people of the world.

With heavy hearts. Let us come together in prayer to honor his dedicated life of service to God and humanity. May his soul find eternal peace, and may God grant comfort to all who mourn his loss. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

As we start the Lenten season with Ash Wednesday, we are reminded by the mercy and compassion of God despite our sinfulness. May we reflect on the sacrifice of Our Lord as we embark the journey of 40 days of prayer, fasting, abstinence, and acts of mercy.

As Pope Francis' stay at the hospital is extended, the Church calls upon her sons and daughters to pray for his healing and strength.

"The Vatican said on Saturday that Pope Francis' health had deteriorated over the past 24 hours and for the first time described his condition as "critical", reporting he had needed supplemental oxygen and blood transfusions." - Reuters

Let us keep Pope Francis in our hearts and prayers, asking the Lord to grant him healing and peace.
