More of Christ, Less of Me

John 3:30-31
He must increase, but I must decrease.

He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.

A SATISFIED SOUL

Psalm 23:1
"The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. "

This psalm teaches us that each person has deep needs, and it needed satisfaction, but these needs will ONLY be TRULY met by the LORD!

These needs can only be satisfied by the LORD.

Our needs are known to God. And these needs are important to God. That is why these needs, lead us to God, for Him to satisfy all of it.

And we shall say, I shall not want.

Is the LORD, TRULY your Shepherd?

John 10:11 - Jesus the "Good Shepherd"
Hebrews 13:20 - Jesus the "Great Shepherd"
1 Peter 5:4 - Jesus the "Chief Shepherd"

Exodus 34:14
For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:

Joshua 24:19
And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the LORD: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.

1 John 5:14-15
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Do you seldom ask yourself this question, "why do my prayers remain unanswered"?

We usually see or read this phrase somewhere, "whatever you ask for in prayer, believe, and you will receive it", right?

Is this statement true and a reality to all of our prayers? I don't believe so!

Because, most of us, if not all, have been misled and deceived by preachers who try to lure us into believing that God is a genie and will give to us whatever we ask of Him.

But, the truth of the matter is, God answers prayers according to His parameter. God has a standard, God has a boundary. He will only answer prayers that are ACCORDING TO HIS WILL.

According to His will? His will is that which he has promised in his Word. His Word is a revelation of His will.

PRAYER is the language of dependence on God, that His will is perfect.

So, if you want your prayers to be answered, always remember, pray ACCORDING TO HIS WILL.

Pray according to His will
-seek to know His will
-study His will

Pray acknowledging His will
-embrace His will (submit)
-embark to obey His will (keep)

Pray with adoration to His will
-confident in His plan
-confident in His person

Pray with acceptance to His will
-it is better than your plan
-it is the best thing for you
