Did you know that climate change isn’t just making the Philippines very hot? It's also putting bees in danger! If we lose bees, we could lose the majority of our food supply because they pollinate 70% of the plants that feed over 90% of the world!

This is why CharityPhilippines.org supports International Day for Biological Diversity, observed annually on May 22nd. This special day, established by the United Nations, reminds all of us of the importance of protecting Earth's rich life forms and ecosystems and their role in providing us with food, medicine, and clean air and water.

Time is precious, life is short. Holding on to anger, regrets, worries, and grudges keeps us from being happy! Let’s set our minds on forgiveness and acceptance! By doing so, we can free ourselves from unnecessary burdens, make the most of life, and enjoy a more joyful and fulfilling existence.

Imagine a world where darkness reigns supreme, where even the simplest tasks become a challenge. So today, come and join CharityPhilippines.org as it celebrates the International Day of Light, a day to shine a bright spotlight on the importance of light in every aspect of our lives, from science and culture to art and education.

And like the NGO Liter of Light, a partner of CharityPhilippines.org, let's not forget to spread the light to underserved communities! Liter of Light, founded in 2011 by social entrepreneur Illac Diaz, uses simple, eco-friendly technology to repurpose plastic bottles filled with water and bleach as solar-powered light bulbs that refract sunlight into homes during the day, providing free, natural light.

Celebrate the International Day of Light by supporting the mission of Liter of Light! Find out how here: https://www.charityphilippines.org/liter-of-light-philippines.

The Blessed Community of Persons with Disability Inc. (BCPD), based in Tadiangan, Tuba, Benguet, was formed as a response to the lockdown-induced financial struggles of visually impaired massage therapists during the early months of the COVD-19 pandemic. They formally established BCPD in August 2022, and started out making and selling liquid detergent and macrame products. They withstood several setbacks, but still stand today as a testament to the power of unity and perseverance. If you are ever in Baguio and hear live music playing on a street, the buskers could be members of BCPD, transforming their challenges into opportunities.
