Sa aklat ng Philippians, isinulat ni Paul habang siya ay nakakulong—ngunit kahit nasa gitna ng hirap, nakita niya pa rin ang dahilan para magalak.

Alam niyang ang mamatay ay ang makasama si Hesus. Ngunit pinili niyang manatili at mabuhay, hindi dahil mas madali, kundi dahil may mga taong kailangan pa niyang mahalin.

Para kay Pablo, higit na mahalaga ang ipagpaliban ang komportableng buhay para matulungan ang mga kapatid na mas lumalim kay Lord.

Pinili niyang manatili kasi mahal niya ang mga tao. Ang kagalakan niya ay nakatali sa simbahan—sa pagkakasundo, pagpapatawaran, at paglago ng bawat isa.

Minsan, nakakalimutan natin na ang kagalakan ay hindi nasa komportableng sitwasyon.

Nasa pag-ibig.
Nasa malasakit.
Nasa pagpiling magmahal kahit mahirap.

Masaya siya dahil nagmamahal siya.

Are you in your own "Bethany" today—a place of pain, confusion, or unanswered prayers?

Remember that being in a place of affliction does not mean you are separated from the love of God. Even in your deepest misery and discouragement, His persistent, unconditional, and sovereign love remains, holding you close.

Before Jesus changes your outward circumstances, He wants to do a work of healing in your heart. Instead of pulling away or pretending everything is fine, He invites you to drop your walls and fall honestly at His feet. Surrender your hurts to Him; He is not your enemy, but your ultimate restorer.

Only Jesus can step into your hopeless situation and turn it into a powerful testimony. You are just one sincere cry away from a spiritual breakthrough, because the exact place of your deepest affliction is where He is preparing to perform His greatest miracle.

The calamities we are experiencing this season may shake us to the core.

Just like Jesus and His disciples in Mark 4:35–41, the disciples faced a great storm and became afraid. Yet, Jesus was with them in the boat, reminding them to look beyond the storm and remember Who was with them.

In the same way, as we face the storms and uncertainties around us, may we not be overwhelmed by what we see and hear. Instead, may we remember that God is with us.

The storm may be great, but our God is greater. So, let us continue to pray for the communities affected by calamities.

Ang pinakamalaking banta sa pagkakaisa ng ating iglesya ay hindi ang pagsubok mula sa labas—kundi ang ating sariling laman.

Kapag hinayaan nating mag-ugat ang pagmamataas, mabilis na pagkairita, inggit (o "crab mentality"), pagtatanim ng sama ng loob, at pagbuo ng mga eksklusibong grupo, pinahihintulutan natin ang kaaway na gamitin tayo para sa pagkakabaha-bahagi.

Ang pamumuhay nang karapat-dapat sa ating pagkatawag ay hindi tungkol sa pakikipaglaban sa labas; ito ay ang paggapi sa kaaway sa loob ng ating mga sarili—sa pamamagitan ng araw-araw na pagpili sa tunay na kababaang-loob, kabaitan, pagtitimpi, at bukas-palad na pagmamahal upang ating maingatan ang pagkakaisa ng katawan ni Kristo.

Last week, we journeyed through Mark 8 and were reminded of a truth we so easily forget: when we’re consumed by what we lack, Jesus gently redirects our eyes to what truly matters—what is eternal.

The disciples worried over bread while sitting beside the One who had already fed thousands. Their circumstances became louder than the miracles they had witnessed. And maybe, if we’re honest, we’ve been there too.

Worry has a way of making us forget His faithfulness. But Jesus, doesn’t turn away from our doubts. Instead, He asks questions—not because He doesn’t know the answer, but because He wants to remind us of who He is.
