May 24, 2026 | 𝐏𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲

Today, we celebrate Pentecost Sunday, the day the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles like tongues of fire, filling them with courage, wisdom, and zeal to proclaim the Gospel to all nations. From fearful disciples, they became bold witnesses of Christ’s resurrection, marking the birth of the Church and the beginning of its mission to evangelize the world.

As we commemorate this great feast, may the Holy Spirit renew our hearts and strengthen our faith. May we be filled with His gifts and guided to live lives of love, service, and holiness, courageously becoming instruments of God’s peace and truth in our communities.

May 22, 2026 | 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐭. 𝐑𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐚

Today, we honor St. Rita of Cascia, known as the patron of impossible causes and desperate cases, a model of unwavering faith, patience, and forgiveness. Despite the trials, suffering, and hardships she endured throughout her life, St. Rita remained steadfast in prayer and trusted completely in God’s mercy and providence. Her life reminds us that holiness is found not only in joy, but also in faithful perseverance amid difficulties.

As we celebrate her feast, may St. Rita inspire us to surrender our burdens to the Lord with hope and confidence. Through her intercession, may we learn to forgive wholeheartedly, love selflessly, and remain faithful even in the midst of life’s impossible situations.

𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝

Today, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord, commemorating Christ’s glorious return to the Father after His Resurrection. Before ascending into heaven, Jesus entrusted His disciples with the mission to proclaim the Gospel to all nations, reminding them that He would remain with them always. His Ascension is not a departure, but a promise of hope and eternal life for all who follow Him.

As we reflect on this solemnity, may we be inspired to continue the mission of Christ through lives rooted in faith, service, and love. Just as the apostles were called to become witnesses of the Gospel, may we also courageously share His light in our homes, communities, and ministries, trusting that the Risen Lord continues to guide His people.

The Student Catholic Action of the Philippines UNO-Recoletos College Unit joyfully expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Most. Rev. Patricio A. Buzon, SDB, DD for his faithful and selfless service to the Church and to the Diocese of Bacolod. Your pastoral leadership, humility, and unwavering commitment in proclaiming the Gospel have inspired countless faithful, especially the youth, to live a Christ-centered life rooted in service and mission. Thank you for shepherding the Diocese with wisdom, compassion, and love for God’s people.

As one family in faith, we also warmly welcome Most. Rev. Louie P. Galbines, SThD, DD as the newly appointed Bishop of the Diocese of Bacolod. SCAP joins the entire diocesan community in offering fervent prayers and heartfelt congratulations as we welcome home our new shepherd. May your ministry continue to guide the faithful, especially the young people, towards deeper discipleship and active participation in the mission of the Church.

May the Almighty Father continue to bless the Diocese of Bacolod in this new chapter of pastoral leadership, strengthening our faith and renewing our commitment to serve Christ and His Church with joy and fidelity.

𝐒𝐂𝐀 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

Today, it was a journey of the heart, inspired by the life of 𝑺𝒕. 𝑭𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑨𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒔𝒊. In him, we see a man who embraced simplicity, lived in humility, and gave himself fully in service to God and others. As we came together in prayer, formation, and fellowship, we were reminded that our call as SCAns is not only to believe, but to live out the Gospel with courage and joy. Like St. Francis, we are invited to let go of what holds us back and to trust completely in God’s plan.

More importantly, these days became a space of formation for our militants—whom we are called to guide, shape, and inspire. In their commitment, service, and willingness to grow, we see the seeds of a Church that continues to live and serve. Just as St. Francis formed a community rooted in faith, humility, and mission, we too are entrusted with forming these young hearts to become true instruments of peace, love, and service.

SCA Days 2026 reminded us that formation is a mission of love and responsibility. We do not only build memories—we build lives anchored in Christ. As we move forward, may we continue to accompany our militants with patience and dedication, helping them grow into the leaders God is calling them to be. Like St. Francis, may we go forth with hearts surrendered, ready to rebuild, to serve, and to proclaim through our lives: “𝑳𝒐𝒓𝒅, 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒎𝒆 𝒂𝒏 𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒆.”

On the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker, we honor the humble carpenter chosen by God to be the guardian of Jesus and the spouse of Mary. Through his faithful labor, St. Joseph showed that work is not merely a duty, but a sacred participation in God’s creation. In the hidden life of Nazareth, he worked with dedication and love, providing for the Holy Family and forming Jesus in the dignity of honest work.

May St. Joseph the Worker inspire us to offer our daily tasks to God, no matter how simple or unseen they may be. Like him, may we serve with humility, perseverance, and trust in the Lord, recognizing that our work can become a path to holiness and a way to glorify God.

𝐒𝐂𝐀𝐅𝐄 𝟏𝟎𝟏 | 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟗𝟎 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐂𝐀𝐏

Last April 11–12, the 𝑺𝑪𝑨 𝑨𝒍𝒖𝒎𝒏𝒊 𝑨𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 organized a SCAFE 101 in celebration of the 90th SCAP Founding Anniversary. It was a meaningful coming together of alumni and undergraduates from different units of the Diocese of Bacolod—a space filled with shared stories, renewed connections, and a deep sense of belonging.

The experience served as a reminder that being part of SCAP does not end after graduation; it continues as a lifelong commitment to serve. Seeing different generations unite showed the strength of a community rooted in faith, leadership, and service. Each moment of learning, sharing, and reflection echoed the same mission that has been carried through the years.

More than just an event, SCAFE 101 became a moment of renewal—a chance to look back with gratitude and move forward with purpose. As we celebrate 90 years of SCAP, we are reminded that our journey is not only about honoring the past, but also about continuing the mission together, guided by faith and inspired to serve.

𝑺𝑪𝑨𝑷 𝒕𝒐 𝑰𝑵𝑭𝑰𝑵𝑰𝒏𝒆𝑻𝒀 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒃𝒆𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒅.

SCA is an organized group of students striving to become a community of disciples of Jesus Christ by being evangelized and evangelizing.

For nine decades, SCAP has stood as a witness to God’s grace, shaping generations of servers who offer their time, talents, and hearts in service. What began as a simple “yes” has grown into a legacy of faith lived out in our ministry and daily lives.

In this community, we are continually formed—not only in discipline and reverence, but in love, humility, and commitment. As we are evangelized, we are also sent forth to evangelize, bringing Christ into every space we enter through our actions and our lives.

This anniversary reminds us that our service is not just a task, but a calling to discipleship. Every sacrifice, every hidden act of service, and every moment of perseverance draws us closer to the One we serve.

As we celebrate 90 years, may we remain steadfast in our mission—to restore all things in Christ. With grateful hearts, we continue the journey, trusting that He who began this good work in us will bring it to completion.
