With deep gratitude for a life faithfully lived, we announce that the remains of Rev. Sonia Dequina will lie in state at Bata Christian Church Assembly of God - the church she pioneered and pastored for forty years.

Join us each evening at 6:00 PM for tribute services sponsored by each ministries & departments, as we gather in worship, remembrance, and thanksgiving for her life and legacy.

Homegoing Service: Saturday, 8:00 AM

With Deep Sorrow Yet Unshaken Christian Hope,
announces the homegoing of

Rev. Sonia Dequina
Pioneer and Senior Pastor
February 22, 2026

For Forty Years, Rev. Sonia Dequina faithfully carried the mantle of leadership as the founding pastor of Bata Christian Church Assembly of God. What began as a step of obedience became a movement of faith that transformed generations.

She was not only a pastor, but a spiritual mother, a church planter, a leader of leaders, and a faithful steward of God’s calling. Through her vision and unwavering commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, thousands encountered Christ, believers were strengthened, and workers were raised for the harvest.

Under her leadership, daughter churches were planted, pastors were raised up & mentored, missionaries were sent, evangelists were commissioned, and countless men and women were equipped to serve the Lord.

She also served with distinction as a District Official of the Negros Occidental District Council of the Assembly of God, helping shape and strengthen the wider body of Christ across the region.

Her life was poured out for the Kingdom.
Her legacy is written in transformed lives.
Her reward is eternal.
