Good Morning SJYS...

We are hoping and praying for a 100% participation from all the members of the Campus Ministry SJYS. Allow us also to give our thanks to those who lead the rosary for the past days.

As for the other members, we would really love to hear you lead the rosary for us. As SERVANTS, we believe that being a prayer leader is a form of service and mission. And since we are in a Mission, we should not be afraid of spreading God's love to anyone, anywhere, and anytime. 🙂🙂🙂

Hope to hear all of you leading the prayer soon... Please contact or message your Club moderator for more information about our program. Thank you so much for heeding the call SERVANTS! God bless us all and May our Mother Mary intercede in all of our prayers... Keep safe and stay healthy everyone.

Mr. Jonel Estacio
SJI Campus Ministry Coordinator

And now, we have gained so much because everyone has given their efforts just to established our home. Thank you for being one of the pillars of our ministry and with this, we are really grateful for your presence in our midst.

May we continue the journey that we have started and let us always walk together with God who is the center of everything in our lives.

Happy Birthday Nash! and Thank you for all the things that you have done in our SJI Campus Ministry. God bless you and we are here always in prayer to support you in your your chosen paths.

Reflections for HOLY THURSDAY 💜
======================================
Gospel Reading: St. John 13:1-15

BEFORE the festival day of the pasch, Jesus knowing that his hour was come, that he should pass out of this world to the Father: having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them unto the end. And when supper was done, (the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, to betray him,) Knowing that the Father had given him all things into his hands, and that he came from God, and goeth to God; He riseth from supper, and layeth aside his garments, and having taken a towel, girded himself. After that, he putteth water into a basin, and began to wash the feet of the disciples, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. He cometh therefore to Simon Peter. And Peter saith to him: Lord, dost thou wash my feet? Jesus answered, and said to him: What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter. Peter saith to him: Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him: If I wash thee not, thou shalt have no part with me. Simon Peter saith to him: Lord, not only my feet, but also my hands and my head. Jesus saith to him: He that is washed, needeth not but to wash his feet, but is clean wholly. And you are clean, but not all. For he knew who he was that would betray him; therefore he said: You are not all clean. Then after he had washed their feet, and taken his garments, being set down again, he said to them: Know you what I have done to you? You call me Master, and Lord; and you say well, for so I am. If then I being your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that as I have done to you, so you do also.

Reflection:
As the whole nation and the group of Jesus celebrate the Passover to commemorate their ancestors’ passage from slavery in Egypt to freedom in Canaan through the Red Sea and the desert, Jesus announces that his time has come. He is about to die. The hour has come for him to pass over from this life to the Father.
As they are eating the sumptuous last supper, the devil enters the heart of Judas. Jesus is aware that he will hand him over to his enemies. Before that happens, he washes the feet of the apostles. He wants to teach them service to the brothers. Like Jesus, his disciples must stoop down to support and strengthen one another.
The disciples are nobody yet in the society. They are just members of an ordinary band who happen to follow a controversial figure. Soon they will be sought by the authorities. The disciples will survive because they will not betray one another. They will keep in their hearts the message of Jesus when he instituted the Eucharist. They will be in communion with one another as long as they continue gathering together for the breaking of the bread.

Lenten Reflections: TRANSFIGURATION 💜

“This mystery in the life of Christ is so important that we read this gospel two times a year: on the 2nd Sunday of Lent and on August 6th. While Jesus was still walking among them, the apostles tended to take him as simply human with extraordinary powers.

The transfiguration was intended to help them see him beyond what the human eye can see. This was a moment in his human existence that Jesus allowed the chosen apostles, and us, to see the divinity in his Person. The splendor of the divinity was allowed to pierce through the humanity and be made visible. That should have been enough for Peter, James and John to stand firm on Good Friday through Holy Saturday until they see him again on Easter Sunday. Yet like any other man they were frightened, confused, insecure. They all ran away and abandoned Jesus. Peter even denied the Lord when he found himself in a tight situation.

The command not to tell anyone “until the Son of Man rises from the dead” should have lighted their path in those days of darkness for, indeed, he was to rise from the dead! We who contemplate these events should be firmer in our faith in the Person of Jesus and in his promise that we will share in his resurrection. Jesus is our God who suffers and dies like us and who assures us conquest and triumph by our share in his resurrection.

Jesus is the human face of God, the meeting of the divine and the human. In his splendor, we see our own destiny. Thus we find joy and confidence despite the difficulty and insecurity of daily living. Jesus is our way to God. Jesus is the light who gives meaning and value to our human existence. Listening to him is listening to God; following him is following God. Lord Jesus, I do believe that you and the Father are one. Help my unbelief. Make me firm when I experience my own passion and death. Let me fix my eyes on your glory. Permit not that trials and hardships stop me from following you.

Exactly four years after Pope Pius IX proclaimed the Immaculate Conception as a dogma of the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church, Our Lady appeared at a grotto in the town of Lourdes, France to St. Bernadette Soubirous.

St. Bernadette was a sickly girl who knew little of her catechism. She was chosen by God to witness the series of apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary from February 11, 1858, to July 16, 1858.

Mary introduced herself as the Immaculate Conception. She promised St. Bernadette's happiness in the next life rather than the present.

Today we celebrate the Solemnity of Our Lady of Lourdes and the World Day of the Sick. 💙

FIRST FRIDAY MASS 💖⛪

This month’s First Friday Mass in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus coincided with the vigil of the end of the Chinese New Year. The mass was offered by Rev. Fr. Hubert Javellana, parochial vicar, and Rev. Msgr. "B**g" Lo, LRMS as a con-celebrating priest.

The Gospel talked about the beheading of John the Baptist, the precursor of Jesus Christ. Msgr. Lo emphasized the fire within the lantern. The light that leads us to God and repentance like that of King David.

The Mass ended with the blessing of Chinese lanterns and the distribution of blessed oranges.
