Jesus Christ Is God Revealed in Flesh

John 1:1
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

John 1:14
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us…”

This means God came into the world as Jesus Christ.

Jesus Is Called God
Isaiah 9:6
“…his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father…”
Colossians 2:9
“For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”
1 Timothy 3:16
“God was manifest in the flesh…”

Is Jesus Different From God?

The Bible teaches there is only ONE God.

Deuteronomy 6:4
“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD.”

Jesus is not a second God or separate deity.
He is the visible revelation of the invisible God.

John 14:9

He that hath seen me hath seen the Father

Jesus told Philip:
“He that hath seen me hath seen the Father…”

Why did Jesus pray to the Father?

Jesus was fully God and fully man.

As a man, He prayed, hungered, slept, suffered, and died.
As God, He forgave sins, calmed storms, raised the dead, and accepted worship.

John 10:30
“I and my Father are one.”

Simple Explanation
God is ONE.
Jesus is God revealed in human flesh.
The Father is God above us.
The Son is God manifested among us.
The Holy Spirit is God working in us.

Not three Gods — but one God revealing Himself.

The greatest revelation in Scripture is this:

2 Corinthians 5:19
“To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself…”

The Oneness of God in 1 John 5:7

One of the most powerful affirmations of the unity of God is found in 1 John 5:7, which declares:

“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”

This verse has often been discussed in theological debates, but from a Oneness perspective, it becomes a strong witness to the absolute unity of God rather than a division of persons.

Understanding “These Three Are One”

At first glance, the verse mentions three:

The Father
The Word
The Holy Ghost

However, the key phrase is not the number three—it is the conclusion: “these three are one.”

Oneness believers emphasize that this does not describe three separate persons, but rather three manifestations, roles, or revelations of the one true God.

The Father – God as the eternal Spirit, the Creator of all things (John 4:24).
The Word – God expressed or revealed, especially in flesh through Jesus Christ (John 1:1, 14).
The Holy Ghost – God working within and among believers (Acts 2:4).

These are not different beings, but different ways the one God reveals Himself.

The Word Was Made Flesh

To fully understand this unity, we must connect it with John’s earlier writing:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)
“And the Word was made flesh…” (John 1:14)

From a Oneness standpoint, this shows that Jesus Christ is the embodiment of the one God. The “Word” is not a separate person, but God Himself revealed in human form.

Jesus: The Fullness of God

The Bible clearly teaches that all of God’s fullness dwells in Jesus:

“For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” (Colossians 2:9)

This supports the Oneness belief that:

Jesus is not merely part of God
Jesus is not a second person
Jesus is the complete manifestation of the one true God
One Name, One God

The Oneness message also connects with the biblical emphasis on one name:

Matthew 28:19 speaks of a singular “name” (not names)
Acts 2:38 reveals that name as Jesus Christ

This aligns with the idea that the Father, Word, and Holy Ghost are fully revealed in one name—Jesus.

Conclusion

1 John 5:7 does not divide God into three persons—it declares unity:

“These three are one.”

From a Oneness perspective, this verse beautifully confirms that:

God is absolutely one
He reveals Himself as Father, through His Word, and by His Spirit
That full revelation is found in Jesus Christ

The message is simple yet profound:
There is one God, and His name is Jesus.

Are Believers Commanded by God to Live Holy?

Holiness is not just a suggestion in the Christian life—it is a clear command from God. From the Old Testament to the New Testament, Scripture consistently calls God’s people to live lives that are set apart, pure, and pleasing to Him.

1. The Direct Command of God

In 1 Peter 1:15–16, the Bible says:
“But as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”

This is not merely advice—it is a command rooted in the very nature of God. Since God is holy, those who belong to Him are expected to reflect His character.

2. Holiness Means Separation from Sin

To live holy means to be set apart from sin and the ways of the world. It is a daily decision to turn away from ungodliness and pursue righteousness.
2 Corinthians 6:17 says:
“Come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing…”

Holiness involves a lifestyle change. It affects how we think, speak, act, and even what we allow into our lives.

3. Holiness Is Evidence of True Love for God

Jesus made it clear in John 14:15:
“If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

A person cannot genuinely claim to love God while continually choosing to live in sin without repentance. Love for God is demonstrated through obedience, and obedience leads to a holy life.

4. Holiness Is Required to See the Lord

Hebrews 12:14 gives a strong warning:
“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.”

This verse shows the seriousness of holiness. It is not optional—it is essential for every believer.

5. Holiness Is Made Possible Through Christ

Living holy does not mean being perfect by human effort. It is only possible through the power of God working in us.

Philippians 2:13 says:
“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”

Through the Holy Spirit, believers are given the strength to overcome sin and grow in righteousness.

Yes, God has clearly commanded believers to live holy lives. Holiness is not about legalism or outward appearance alone—it is about a transformed heart that desires to please God. It is a life set apart, reflecting the character of a holy God in a sinful world.

Can You Say “I Love God” and Still Continue in Sin?

Many people boldly say, “I love God,” yet their lives tell a different story. This raises a serious question: Can someone truly love God while continuing in sin?

The Bible gives a clear and direct answer.

In 1 John 2:4, it says:
“He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar…”

This may sound strong, but it reveals an important truth—love for God is not just words; it is shown through obedience.

Jesus Himself said in John 14:15:
“If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

Real love for God produces a desire to obey Him. It doesn’t mean we will never make mistakes, but it does mean we will not live comfortably in sin.

Sin separates us from God (Isaiah 59:2). When a person continues in sin without repentance, it shows that something is wrong in their relationship with Him. A heart that truly loves God will feel conviction, will turn away from sin, and will seek righteousness.

Grace is not a license to sin. Romans 6:1–2 says:
“Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid.”

God’s love calls us higher. It calls us to holiness, to transformation, and to a changed life.

So the real question is not just, “Do I say I love God?”
But rather, “Does my life show that I love Him?”

🙏 Conclusion

To love God is to follow Him.
To follow Him is to obey Him.
And to obey Him is to turn away from sin.

Let us not love in words only, but in truth and in action.
