Today, February 15, 2026 we celebrated the 6th Sunday in Ordinary time with the theme “Beyond the Law” at Sto. Niño Parish. A Eucharistic celebration presided by Fr. Reman Cornel. Jesus invites us to choose life and love and to go with him far beyond the commandments.

In Fr. Reman’s homily, every action has a consequence. Big sins bring serious results, but most wrong actions do not start big. They begin in the heart. A grudge may seem small, but if we keep it, it grows. Hurt turns into anger. Anger turns into harmful words or actions. Then we try to justify it. We make excuses for what we know is wrong. Sin often starts with desire and small choices. That is why we must avoid not only the sin itself, but also the situations that lead us there. If something pushes you to do wrong, step away from it.

Let us guard our hearts. Let go of grudges. Stop making excuses. Choose what is right before sin even begins.

As part of the preparation for the 1st Communicants, the students had their confession for two days, held on February 11–12 at M.G. Medalla Integrated School. Four Grade 1 classrooms were used for the activity. Two rooms served as waiting areas where the students’ names were carefully listed, and while waiting, they were taught the steps in going to confession and the prayers to say. One room was used for confession and another for prayer. The teachers helped arrange each room to make sure everything was organized and solemn. The children felt different emotions—some were nervous, some were excited, and others felt their hearts beating fast. Almost 200 students went to confession during the two-day activity. We would like to thank all the catechists, teachers, parents, the school principal, and our beloved priest for their support and guidance in making this event successful.

𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐅𝐀𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐈𝐍 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍

Today, February 8, 2026, the faithful of Sto. Niño Parish–Pahanocoy gathered for the 6:30 AM Holy Mass celebration of the Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time. The Gospel from Matthew 5:13–16 reminded us that we are the salt of the earth and the light of the world, called to make God’s love visible through our lives. It served as a powerful call to live our faith through our actions—choosing kindness, doing what is right, and being a light to others, so that everything we do gives glory to God.

In his homily, Rev. Fr. Reman C. Cornel reflected on the Gospel, encouraging us to be the salt of the earth because we trust in the Lord. Being salt means remaining faithful and doing what is right, even when others turn their backs on us. Our faith gives us the courage to stand firm, knowing that we are never alone. When we place our trust in God, He stays with us, strengthens us, and guides us through every challenge. Through this trust, we continue to live as true witnesses of Christ in the world.

As the celebration came to a close, Father imparted his final blessing, sending the faithful forth renewed in faith, strengthened in hope, and inspired to live out the Gospel in their daily lives.

The Feast of Señor Santo Niño was celebrated at Santo Niño Parish - Pahanocoy on January 25, 2026, presided over by Rev. Fr. Cris Simon B. Abadilla.

In his homily, Fr. Abadilla recalled the local belief that the image of Señor Santo Niño once reached the shores of Sitio Aning—through the faith of elders and the barangay grew into what they are today. He emphasized that the feast of Santo Niño is a communal celebration that unites the whole Barangay of Pahanocoy.

Fr. Abadilla also explained that God chose to come into the world as a child to show that true greatness is found in being humble. “To be great in the eyes of the world is to be big,” he said, “but to be great in the eyes of God is to be small.”

The Feast of Señor Santo Niño once again served as a reminder to the people of Pahanocoy that genuine greatness is found not in status, but in humility and trust in God.

The parish community of Santo Niño Parish–Pahanocoy gathered in faith for the final day of the Triduum Mass, completing three days of prayer and spiritual preparation for the Feast of the Santo Niño.

As the Triduum came to a close, the faithful were reminded to carry the spirit of the Santo Niño beyond the celebration—living out humility, compassion, and sincere love for others in their daily lives.
