No sooner has Jesus risen from his first fall than he meets his Blessed Mother, standing by the wayside

where He is passing. With immense love Mary looks at Jesus, and Jesus at his Mother. Their eyes meet, and each heart pours into the other its own deep sorrow. Mary’s soul is steeped in bitter grief, the grief of Jesus Christ. O all you that pass by the way, look and see, was there ever a sorrow to compare with my sorrow! But no one notices, no one pays attention; only Jesus. Simeon’s prophecy has been fulfilled: thy own soul a sword shall pierce (Luke 2:35). In the dark loneliness of the Passion, Our Lady offers her Son a comforting balm of tenderness, of union, of faithfulness; a “yes” to the divine will. Hand in hand with Mary, you and I also want to console Jesus, by accepting always and in everything the Will of his Father, of our Father. Only thus will we taste the sweetness of Christ’s Cross, and come to embrace it with all the strength of Love, carrying it in triumph along the ways of the earth.

Oratio Imperata for Protection Against Calamities, Typhoons, and Floods

Almighty God, Father of all creation, we come to You in our need, acknowledging Your power and total control over all nature. Look upon us with mercy as we face the threat of severe weather, strong winds, and rising waters.

Forgive us for our sins and for our shortcomings in caring for the earth You have entrusted to us. In Your great mercy, shield us from the destruction of typhoons, landslides, and flooding. Calm the raging storms, quiet the winds, and command the floodwaters to recede.

Protect our families, our homes, and our livelihoods. Keep safe all those who are vulnerable, those who are displaced, and the brave first responders who put their lives at risk to help others. Grant wisdom, strength, and compassion to our leaders and community helpers.

Through Your grace, keep us unharmed in body, mind, and spirit, so that we may continue to serve You and love one another in safety and peace.

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever.

Amen.

Today is the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary where she was taken up into heaven both body and soul.

This is considered as the actual Feast of the Virgin for it was this day she received her eternal reward for her faithfulness and obedience to God.

As we gaze upon the image of the Señor de la Última Cena on this Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, we are reminded of the profound mystery of the Holy Eucharist. What began in the Upper Room is perpetuated on our altars today—a perpetual sacrifice, an enduring presence, and the ultimate testament of Divine Love.

May our hearts become worthy tabernacles for His presence, and may we always approach His altar with deep reverence, awe, and thanksgiving.
