THIS DAY ┃ Solemnity of Pentecost

Pentecost marks the glorious descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and the birth of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. Occurring fifty days after Easter Sunday, this solemnity fulfills Christ’s promise that the Advocate would come to guide and strengthen His followers. 🔥🕊️

In the Upper Room, as the Apostles gathered in fear and prayer with the Blessed Virgin Mary, a sound like a mighty wind filled the house. Tongues of fire appeared and rested on each of them. They were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different languages, proclaiming the mighty works of God. 🌬️🔥

This miraculous event astonished the crowd in Jerusalem, as people from various nations understood the Apostles in their own tongues. Saint Peter, emboldened by the Spirit, preached the Gospel with power and clarity, leading to the conversion and baptism of around 3,000 souls that day. 🗣️🌎

Pentecost reverses the confusion of Babel, uniting all in the language of divine love. It reveals the fullness of the Holy Trinity and commissions the Church to evangelize the world. It is the Church’s true beginning—missionary, Spirit-filled, and universal. ⛪🌍

Today, the faithful are called to renew their openness to the Holy Spirit, praying for His gifts: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord. Pentecost concludes the Easter Season and reawakens our call to witness Christ in our daily lives. 🙏🕊️

THIS DAY ┃ Solemnity of the Ascension of Jesus Christ

Today, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Ascension of Jesus Christ, Ascension Day, Ascension Thursday, or at times Holy Thursday, which stands as a commemoration of the Christian belief in the bodily Ascension of Jesus into Heaven. 🌌🙌

Derived from the account in Acts 1:3, which states that the risen Jesus appeared for 40 days before his Ascension, Ascension Day is traditionally observed on a Thursday—the fortieth day of Easter. However, the Catholic Church opting to move the observance to the subsequent Sunday, referred to as Ascension Sunday. 📆⛪

This feast serves as a poignant reminder of the pivotal moment when Jesus, having triumphed over death, ascended into Heaven. It holds a place of reverence in the liturgical calendar, inviting believers to reflect on the significance of Christ's Ascension and its profound implications for the Christian faith. 🙏✨

THIS DAY ┃ Feast of Our Lady of Fatima

Our Lady of Fatima holds a special place in Catholic devotion, stemming from the reported Marian apparitions in 1917 to three shepherd children in Fátima, Portugal. These children—Lúcia dos Santos, Francisco, and Jacinta Marto—claimed to have witnessed appearances by the Virgin Mary. 🌟👼

The events at Fatima were eventually declared worthy of belief by the Bishop of Leiria, José Alves Correia da Silva, on October 13, 1930. The recognition of these apparitions led to widespread devotion and pilgrimage to the site. 🙏⛪️

Pope Pius XII further affirmed the significance of Our Lady of Fatima by granting a pontifical decree of canonical coronation to the venerated image on April 25, 1946. This act elevated the image's status and solidified its importance within the Catholic Church. 🌹👑

The memoirs of Sister Lúcia, one of the shepherd children, revealed secrets purportedly communicated by the Virgin Mary. We from Koro Agnus Dei would like to wish every mother a Happy Mother's Day, let us lift our hearts in thanksgiving to the Almighty for the gift of motherhood, bestowed upon us through His divine providence. Just as Mary, the Mother of Jesus, embraced her role with unwavering faith and love, may all mothers be inspired to nurture their children with the same devotion and selflessness. 🙏🌹"

Let us also remember and honor those mothers who have gone before us, entrusting them to the tender care of our Heavenly Father. Through their examples of faith and sacrifice, they continue to guide and inspire us from the realms above. May God's eternal blessings be upon all mothers, filling their hearts with joy, peace, and the comforting embrace of His love. Amen. 🌟❤️

O almighty and eternal God, Lord of both the living and the dead, Your tender mercy embraces all men foreknown to be Yours by faith and a good life. Through the intercession of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary our Mother, and of all the saints, grant Your merciful pardon to all mothers for whom we pray, whether they still are living in this world or have departed from this flesh into the world to come. Especially, dear Lord, grant the requests I now make of You for my own beloved mother.
