ANNOUNCEMENT!

There will be a Fiesta Mass tomorrow (March 19, 2026) at exactly 9:00 am at San Jose-San Joaquin Community Chapel. Our mass presider for tomorrow is Rev. Fr. Ronald Raymund O. Chan, Rector and Parish Priest of The Agoo Basilica.

The mass will be livestreamed via San Jose-San Joaquin Community Chapel page. After the mass, there will be a Solemn Procession in honor of St. Joseph, our Barangay Patron. Thank you!

MY FAITH NEWS | Agoo Basilica granted spiritual bond with Rome's Saint Mary Major.

The Minor Basilica and Diocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Charity in Agoo has been granted a Special Bond of Spiritual Affinity with the Papal Basilica of Saint Mary Major, allowing the faithful in northern Philippines to receive the same plenary indulgences ordinarily granted to pilgrims who visit the major basilica in Rome.

In an announcement released by the Minor Basilica and Diocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Charity, church officials said the spiritual affiliation includes the concession of a Plenary Indulgence, which the Catholic Church teaches as the full remission of temporal punishment due to sins already forgiven through the Sacrament of Confession. The grant enables members of the local church to obtain these spiritual benefits without traveling abroad, provided specific conditions are met.

The new spiritual bond will be formally marked with a Solemn Eucharistic Celebration on Aug. 5.

Good day, dear brothers and sisters. Please be informed that during this Lenten season, our Sunday afternoon Mass will be moved earlier — from 4:30 PM to 4:00 PM.

After the Mass, at around 5:00 PM, we will hold the Stations of the Cross around the Poblacion. This is a beautiful opportunity for us to walk with the Lord, reflect on His passion, and deepen our Lenten journey.

We warmly invite everyone — families, organizations, and youth — to join us in this prayerful devotion.
Thank you, and may this season of Lent bring us closer to Christ.

We joyfully inform our parish community that our request for a Special Bond of Spiritual Affinity between the Minor Basilica and Diocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Charity in Agoo and the Papal Basilica of Saint Mary Major in Rome has been granted, together with the associated Plenary Indulgence.

This means that the faithful of our local Church may receive the same indulgences and spiritual benefits ordinarily granted to those who visit the Major Basilica in Rome.
A Plenary Indulgence is a teaching of the Catholic Church that signifies the full remission of all temporal punishment due to sins that have already been forgiven through the Sacrament of Confession.
To obtain a Plenary Indulgence, the following conditions must be fulfilled:
1. Sacramental Confession - to be in a state of grace.
2. Eucharistic Communion - reception of the Holy Eucharist.
3. Prayer for the Pope's intentions - usually one Our Father and one Hail Mary, or
other suitable prayers.

These conditions may be completed here at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Charity by the Christian faithful who are truly repentant and who devoutly participate in any sacred celebration, or at least recite the Lord's Prayer and the Creed:
• On the titular feast of the Papal Basilica (August 5) - the Feast of the Dedication of Papal Basilica of Saint Mary Major.
• On the titular feast of the church (May 4) - the Feast of Sta. Monica.
• On all solemnities of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
• Once a year, on a day freely chosen by each of the faithful.
• During group pilgrimages undertaken out of devotion.
We will celebrate this Special Bond OF Spiritual Affinity with a Solemn Eucharistic Celebration on August 5, the Feast of the Dedication of the Papal Basilica of Saint Mary Major.
