A big thank you to the Wewak Fire Services team for visiting our Adventurers today to conduct a fire safety awareness session as part of their award requirements.

The team shared valuable lessons on fire hazards, prevention, and safety, equipping our young Adventurers with practical knowledge they will carry with them.

"The visit was also timely for those who attended from communities along the Turubu coastline and the Schouten Islands," said District Youth Coordinator, Mr. Neville Sope.

Adventurers from across the East Coast Schouten Island District have gathered at Maur Seventh-day Adventist Church this weekend for their district Adventurer Rally, a three-day program running from July 24 to 26, 2026, that has brought young children together for fellowship, activities and discipleship.

𝐌𝐚𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐃𝐀 𝐂𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝟗𝟎 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐢 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩, 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 | MAUR Seventh-day Adventist Church took its World Adventurer Day celebration beyond its walls and into the community this weekend, loading 32 Adventurers, 38 Pathfinders, leaders and more than 20 church members onto transport on Friday, May 15, and heading out along the Turubu Highway to Tumarau-Mundangai Village for a three-day program of worship, outreach and mission.

The group represented Maur SDA Church and its three branch churches, travelling together to celebrate World Adventurer Day on Sabbath at the Mundangai Branch Church and to conduct a church commission for the branch church on Sunday, May 17.

MAUR Seventh-day Adventist Church has launched its Junior Youth Week of Praise and Joy with a community food feeding program on Sunday morning, with Maur Adventist Community Services taking the lead alongside Youth, Pathfinders and Adventurers to distribute food to more than 200 children and adults from the surrounding Maur community.

The food feeding initiative served as a warm and practical opening to the week-long program, and the community’s response was immediate. Residents expressed appreciation for the gesture and shared their anticipation for the full program ahead.

The highlight of the Junior Youth Week of Praise and Joy will be eight young Pathfinders who will step up to preach throughout the week’s programs, a bold and inspiring opportunity for young voices to lead the church and community in worship and the Word.
