King of Heaven and Earth Passed through our homes 🏡
Today as it was Dawning, the King of Heaven and Earth Passed through our homes 🏡. As we celebrate the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ known as Corpus Christi. We remember the greatest mystery in which Chirst himself has handed down to his Apostles. He gave us his own body and blood. Chirst himself has told us that, those who eat his body and drink his blood will have eternal life. John 6:52.
Catholics believe that Eucharist is not merely the symbol of Jesus. But Jesus himself truly present in the Blessed Sacrament. carrying of Eucharist through villages and neighborhoods is a public act of Faith, worship and witness.
But what is deeper behind this beautiful tradition is that: Jesus is present truly in the Blessed Sacrament. The foundation of every Corpus Christi Procession is the Catholic Belief in the real presence of the Body and Blood of Christ. Not merely bread and wine but Jesus himself truly present in the species of bread and wine. He is present body, soul and divinity.
The Church teaches that during the consecration, the bread and wine become the real body and blood of Christ .
Bible records Jesus saying: " This is my Body which will be given up for you "...LK 22:9.
Procession reminds us that life is a pilgrimage wherby we walk together following Christ. The israelites did their pilgrimage. They wandered in the desert from 40 years. This wandering was a period of trial for their faith and for their journey to God's promised Land. The Israelites complaint, they felt pain and hunger ,and so God rainned done manna from heaven. This they eat but they all died. For us, Eucharist is an anecdote for the journey towards Heaven. For us who recieve the body and blood of Christ in the species of bread and wine will receive eternal life.
Let us pray for the grace to journey with faith by following Christ as he leads us to Heaven our dream, our goal and our ideal...Amen.
