//Christmas Community Outreach//
Heartfelt thanks and appreciation to every one of our TOP Church families and individuals who contributed in cash and kind, including cooked food packs, towards a very successful Christmas Community Outreach “Feed the Children and Share God’s Love” Program, Monday afternoon at our church grounds.
Over 220 children as well as mothers with babies from the Goilala and Chimbu communities around the Saraga Street, Six Mile area were invited for a meal and then given the opportunity to commit their lives to Jesus Christ.
Children, among them orphans, who would otherwise not receive any Christmas gift or enjoy a special meal at this time of the year were treated to a hot and delicious meal and a cold drink each with little gift packs prepared by volunteers, mainly our TOP youth and mothers.
During the program, our volunteers shared with the children God’s plan of salvation and gave them an opportunity to give their lives to Jesus. It was such a blessing to watch almost every little hand go up to receive and acknowledge Jesus Christ as the Lord of his or her life.
After the planned program, many food packs were still leftover. These were taken by our volunteers and distributed mainly to vulnerable people on the streets of Boroko shopping area, including the homeless, persons living with disabilities, the elderly, children and women.
A good amount of food packs was then taken to detainees at the Boroko Police Station cells to share. On that note we would like to thank the officers in charge for their assistance.
Special mention also to Coca Cola for the donation of softdrinks.
All glory be to Jesus, our Lord and Saviour, for giving us the opportunity, provision and grace to demonstrate His Love by serving our local community, especially the next generation, and impacting their lives for His Kingdom.
Blessed Christmas and a prosperous and happy new year to you and yours.
John 3:16: “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life” (NLT). In the Scripture above, replace the word “world” with your name.
Matthew 19:14 NKJV …but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew 25:40 NASB And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of Mine, you did it for Me.’
