THE OFFICIAL SYNOD 2022 LOGO
Dear ELCPNG
Greetings in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour!
This is the official logo of the ELCPNG 33rd National Synod in 2022. The logo design presents the concept of Household, reflecting the theme of the synod based on Joshua 24:15 and the ELCPNG vision 2030 on family unit.
What does the Logo design show?
In the centre of the design is the CROSS of SALVATION, representing our core belief rooted in the Gospel. The Cross represents the power of Christ defeating sin, death and satan.
The CROSS sits on a HEART, representing God’s grace and love for mankind.
The CROSS on the HEART is in the centre of the family which is made up of father, mother and children. The CROSS and the HEART is held together with a special bond that holds the family together. Christ is the centre of the family.
The family is under a roof, which could represent a social family, an institution, a community, a society, a church, a nation or the human race. The family is the unit block that makes and holds the roof up.
At the base of the design is an OPEN BOOK, representing the WORD of God. It is on the base because it forms the foundation on which the family under the roof rest upon. In summary it conveys what the household is. It is the family rooted on the WORD. Love, unity, respect, mutual support, forgiveness, reconciliation, peace and harmony are core values that holds the family together and keeps the cohesion of the household.
In the background of the design is a YELLOW Lakatoi representing ELC-Papua district, the host of the 2022 Synod located in Papua, southern region of PNG.
The design is encircled by the ELCPNG logo’s outer Luther-rose in blue. This expresses ELCPNG’s message today on the importance of family as the most fundamental building block that maintains the solidity of the household of God.
