CONSERVATIVES VERSUS LIBERALS: REDEFINING LGBT ISSUE IN POSTMODERN ECCLESSIOLOGY (PART 1).
By: Kembol Kep
The notion of this post is to succinctly discuss the ecclesiastical views of the conservatives and liberal proponents of the LGBT issue in postmodern Christendom. It is divided into several parts for ease of reading. Part 1 deals with main definitions.
[1] PART 1: DEFINITION - CONSERVATIVE, LIBERAL AND LGBT.
Firstly, possible definition. What are Conservative and Liberal in ecclesiological world? The terms can be applied in varied context, i.e. politics, law etc.
However, in ecclesiastical setting conservative refers to proponents of religious organisation that are more rigorous and pious in upholding beliefs and traditional values.
The Liberals on the other hand are those who are more flexible in their views and often set pace for compromisation to ideas and practices.
LGBT is an acronym for Le***an, Gay, Bis*xual and Transgender. (1)The le***an is a homos*xual woman. Example, woman to woman. It also defines and describes the act of homos*xuality. (2)Like the le***an, a gay is a term for homos*xual man. Example, man to man. (3)The bis*xual is a term referring to a person who is s*xually attracted to both male and female as opposed to heteros*xual orientation. He/she can have multiple s*x partners, either male or female. Example, man to man/woman or woman to man/woman. (4)Transgender refers to persons whose gender identity, expression or behavior does not conform or associated to which they were assigned at birth.
In part 2 of my post I will discuss liberal and conservative views of LGBT in Christendom, both retrospective and contemporary view.
