What’s after FWC for Pastor John and Ruth Galut?
I guess this is a question that everyone is asking after the church hosted a Farewell Fellowship Meal on Saturday evening for Ruth and Pastor John Galut.
Pastor John joined FWC as a youth in 2017 as “Jonah”, and eventually as John when he attended the Oceania Bible College in 2020. He is a teacher by profession and easily found himself assisting with the Children’s Ministry and the Music Ministry.
In 2024-2025, as part of the Children’s Ministry in partnership with the Operation Christmas Child. There was also a donation of Gift Boxes and Bibles given to children of FWC and Children’s Ministry within the District 3 Churches.
Pastor John found his calling more in the education space sharing the love of Christ by taking Religious Education at the Tokarara Secondary School in 2023.
In 2024 to 2025, he was then involved with the Rotary Club of Port Moresby in partnership with City Mission donating classroom desks to students of June Vallery Primary School and Tokarara Primary School. Not only did Tokarara Primary School receive classroom desks but also a facelift with classroom renovation and painting.
Pastor John took Religious Education for both June Valley Primary School and Tokarara Primary School during 2 years.
Classroom desk donation went as far as Kemavolo Primary School in the Hula Village of Central Province.
When Chi Alpha was introduced to students at University of Technology (Lae) and University of PNG. Pastor John was nominated to oversee the Chi Alpha program for AOG Christian Tertiary students at UPNG under Student Services as the AOG Chaplain.
The calling and ministry to serve students at UPNG become more evident for Pastor John and Ruth Galut after much prayer and solitude.
The couple decided to step down from pastoral duties at Tokarara Family Worship Center Church this year, and take up the new role and responsibility at UPNG. Their focus will be more on what God has placed in the hearts to serve, and bring spiritual guidance to the future leaders of the country at the tertiary level.
Pastor John and Ruth Galut will continue to support the work of the local church and still attend fellowship at FWC.😇🙏
