🇵🇬 𝑪𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑶𝒖𝒓 𝑭𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒔, 𝑶𝒖𝒓 𝑭𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒉 & 51 𝒀𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑰𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒑𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆! 🇵🇬

The 𝐔𝐂𝐏𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲 came together on Friday, 11 August 2026 for a special celebration combining 𝐅𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 with a 𝐏𝐫𝐞-𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 as Papua New Guinea looks forward to commemorating its 𝟓𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞.

The day began with food preparations, fellowship, laughter, and fun games, creating a wonderful atmosphere of unity and togetherness. ❤️

As part of the program, fathers were randomly selected to share lessons they learned from their own fathers, reflecting on the values, wisdom, discipline, and experiences that shaped their lives. They also shared their personal views and reflections on Papua New Guinea’s independence, providing meaningful perspectives on our nation’s journey and future.

It was a beautiful opportunity to honour our fathers, celebrate our national identity, and strengthen the bonds of fellowship within our church family.

𝐏𝐍𝐆 𝐂𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭
At Australia’s Parliament, PNG's Church leaders saw how faith help shapes Australian public life and strengthen the bonds between our two nations. It was a privilege to share perspectives with Australian parliamentarians and see the respect both countries place on faith, service and community.

𝑪𝒉𝒖𝒓𝒄𝒉 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝑴𝒆𝒆𝒕: 𝑨𝒅𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒔𝒕 𝑯𝒐𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝑽𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒕

There was plenty to talk about at Sydney Adventist Hospital when PNG’s church leaders paid a visit. From caring for patients to building a strong medical workforce, our churches are working hard to meet the same challenges and build healthier communities.

The visit sparked new ideas and strengthened connections that will continue long after the delegation returns home.

PNG's Church leaders have been learning how The Salvation Army in Australia is helping homeless young people build brighter futures. They were inspired to see real examples of faith in action - restoring hope and helping young people succeed.

As churches in Papua New Guinea, we share the same mission: guiding our young people onto the right path and helping them reach their God-given potential.

Welcome To Country

What a blessing for the leaders of our country's churches to stand together at the start of their visit to Australia. They were received a warm welcome at a traditional smoking ceremony.

Now they’re excited to start sharing Papua New Guinean faith, wisdom and experience with Australian churches, communities and government leaders and learning from them in return. May God guide their conversations as they forge new friendships.

United Church in Papua New Guinea (UCPNG) | Cyclone Maila Response – Milne Bay Province

In May 2026, Tropical Cyclone Maila brought destructive winds, heavy rain, storm surges, and widespread devastation to the islands of Milne Bay Province, leaving many families without homes, food, clean water, and essential services.

This video https://youtu.be/5SaqBpaAulY highlights the United Church in Papua New Guinea's (UCPNG) humanitarian response to communities affected by the cyclone. Guided by our Christian mission to serve those in need, UCPNG worked alongside local congregations, community leaders, volunteers, and partners to deliver emergency relief, provide pastoral care, and bring hope to families during a time of great hardship.

Despite the devastation, the resilience, faith, and unity demonstrated by the people of Milne Bay continue to inspire us. Together, we remain committed to supporting recovery, rebuilding livelihoods, and strengthening community resilience for the future.
