Soul winning lesson #5 is in the books! Some men from Temple came to the mission home today. Three men were invited in from the streets to hear the gospel as everyone listened and took notes. The first men, Akali, heard the gospel and believed the good news. After much explaining the Lord opened his eyes and he prayed to be saved, trusting only in the finished work of the Saviour. The spirit of the Lord bore witness. The second man listened; however, had never heard the gospel of grace. He was given a thorough gospel tract and a small Bible. He said he needed more time and would come back later with questions. Say a prayer for him, please. The third man (not pictured) had a Seventh Day Adventist background. Today he read in the Bible the full counsel of God, and how we cannot be saved by the works of the law, but only by the grace of God. He left with a John/Romans and has some thinking to do. Religion is such a stronghold! All in all, it was a good time in the Lord that will make and eternal difference. May the Lord be lifted up and draw all men unto himself.

Our fourth soul winning lesson with some folks from Temple was so special. Mr. Pumbu (pictured left) worked at the mission home for 37 years. Paula, Susie, and Ruth attended and were very encouraged. They encouraged me greatly with their testimonies. We started with trading with Rose (pictured right). After everyone gathered, I went to the street and immediately saw her. The Lord spoke to my heart and said, “That’s the one. Talk to her.” Her eyes had no light. I invited her inside and as I explained to her the gospel in Pidgin while instructing the others in English, the Holy Spirit worked in her heart. With big tears, Rose received Christ as her Saviour. Afterwards she told us she had been seeking God in various churches but now has found Him through the Scriptures. Ruth directed her to a church near her village. Secondly, Gilbert came in from the streets and listened to the gospel. He also trusted Christ and prayed to be saved. He was full of joy. Mr. Pumbu gave him strong talk about being a man of God. Lastly, (not pictured), was a man named Melvin. I had witnessed to Him at the A2Z Hardware a month ago. He was raised Catholic and never heard the gospel, so he needed time to think about it. Today, while doing this lesson, he came in to mission home by surprise. He sat down and I showed Him from the Bible how to be saved. He said he’d felt heavy for a month and finally, today, felt like he MUST come to the mission home. He trusted Christ and prayed to be saved. All left with English/Pidgin John/Romans and a heart full of joy. This was a special day in the Lord.

Yesterday I was passing gospel tracts in front of the mission home. Some young men crossed the street to recieve one. When I began explaining the gospel to them they all sat down and listened. Nobody made a profession, but one young man asked if he could come back tomorrow with all the boys around his age that live in his village. Today, while passing tracts I heard a whole crew of young men coming down the sidewalk chanting something. They approached carrying two large pieces of cardboard to sit on in front of the steps and waited patiently for me to preach the gospel to them from the Bible. The spirit of the Lord moved and convicted many. Two responded to the gospel, understood, believed on Christ, and took turns asking Him to save them. They left with peace in their hearts. The whole group agreed they’d like to come to church together tomorrow. Each left with a John/Romans English/Pidgin side-by-side and tracts. I have the best “job” in the world! (The 2 to my right and left got saved. Another said he wanted to wait until tonight.)

We were pleased to have the second group of nursing students stay with us during their clinicals. Pictured below is the group on their last night at the mission home. The gospel was just preached and two men raised their hands to recieve Christ as Saviour. After counseling from the Bible they trusted Christ and prayed to be saved. THIS is why the mission home exists!

Our third soul winning lesson at the mission home went very well. Preacher John came by with his wife and daughters. A guest who is studying to become a nurse willingly let me share the gospel with her so the others could listen. She realized she had been mixing works and grace and, after the Holy Spirit worked in her heart, she trusted Christ as Saviour and prayed to be saved.

Our evangelism training is going well! Today, two ladies from Temple Baptist came to the mission home to sharpen their soul winning skills. They want to effectively share the gospel to school children during the CCVE programs. The first man willing to participate, named William, got saved! Secondly, two young ladies listened to the gospel. They expressed interest in the trusting Christ but no decisions were made.
