It is with heavy hearts that the Fisika Adventist Students Association (Fisika ASA) announces the passing of our beloved Pastor Raymond Pololi, who rested peacefully in the Lord on Sabbath afternoon, just before sunset, at Angau General Hospital, Lae.
Today, we do not just mourn a pastor. We mourn a father, a mentor, a servant leader, and a true friend of the youth.
Pastor Pololi was the first Student Chaplain of Fisika Adventist Students Association, standing with us from the very beginning at Wengune Adventist Church, Headquarters of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Finschhafen, on 28th December 2022, the day Fisika ASA was born. From that day, he believed in something many overlook: the potential of young people to carry the gospel beyond borders.
He did not just believe it. He lived it. As District Director for the Finschhafen District SDA Church, Pastor Pololi remained our steadfast supporter into 2024, when Fisika hosted its first Biannual Convention at Gagidu Technical School in Finschhafen Town. He worked tirelessly behind the scenes, securing support from Mrs. Paita and helping fund a cause close to his heart, because he understood that the Fisika Region still has vast territories yet to hear the gospel.
His home was never closed. Adventist laymen, pastors, youths, and student leaders alike found an open door and a listening ear whenever they needed help. Alongside him stood his devoted wife, a woman whose quiet strength and support to the ministry mirrored his own.
Pastor Raymond Pololi's legacy is not one we will simply remember. It is one we will carry forward. Every young leader Fisika raises, every territory it reaches, every convention it hosts, will echo the vision he poured into us.
His history will go down in our books, for generations of Fisika students to read and be inspired by.
To Mrs. Pololi and the children: the Fisika Adventist Students Association family stands with you in this time of profound loss. Your husband and father was, to us, family too. We hold you in our prayers and trust in the blessed hope of the resurrection morning, when we shall see him again.
Rest well, Pastor Pololi. Well done, good and faithful servant.
