After 8 incredible years, we say farewell to our Accountant, Akuno Rodney. You joined us as a young, single man, and somewhere between balancing the books and chasing missing receipts, we’ve had the pleasure of celebrating your marriage, welcoming your beautiful wife Dorea and seeing your family grow. We were there to celebrate it all.
(though we’re still waiting for a financial report on how much we spent at your wedding. )
Big thanks to Dorea and your little ones for graciously sharing you with us, all these years, especially when those long late hours in the office kept you away.
More than just keeping our finances in check (and reminding us that budgets actually exist), you took on extra tasks like a true team player. Let’s be honest, in any workplace, "other duties as assigned" is a real thing. Your dedication, patience, and the way you’ve handled everything will be missed.
While we’re sad to see you go, we’re excited for the new chapter ahead of you. Wishing you, Dorea, and the kids nothing but the best.
Thanks for the memories, and know you’ll always be part of AAS family.

Our staff had the honour of being present alongside the Governor for Eastern Highlands, Hon. Simon Sia, in a significant moment of support for the province. In a collaborative effort between the Governor’s office and the organization, a cheque of K194,000 was presented to assist with critical flying operations in the region.
This funding will primarily support essential transportation services, ensuring timely access to medical care for rural communities in need. Additionally, it will facilitate the transport of cash crops, empowering farmers by connecting them to markets and boosting economic opportunities.
The partnership marks a vital step toward improving accessibility and essential services for the people of Eastern Highlands, demonstrating the power of collaboration in driving positive change.

This year has brought it's fair share of challenges, but also many moments of joy and reflection. We bid farewell to three of our senior managers, welcomed Mark Neah as our first national CEO, and celebrated 60 incredible years of mission aviation in Papua New Guinea.

Among the highlights, we proudly celebrated Nathan Abori becoming our first nationally Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) and witnessed the special day Michael de Klerk went solo. We also finalized the sale of SDC and shared a beautiful time of worship in the hangar, surrounded by staff, their families, toddlers, and babies, before everyone began their well-deserved break.

Through it all, we continue to see God's hand guiding us forward.

On behalf of everyone at AAS, we wish you a blessed holiday season. Take care over the festive period and have a wonderful New Year!

Office Closure: We’ll close on December 20 and reopen on January 6, 2025.

If patience took on human form, it would look like Michael de Klerk. Congratulations on your first solo flight, Michael. Thank you for your patience, perseverance, and trust in the unseen hands guiding this journey. And to everyone working tirelessly behind the scenes, your support has made today a true high point for AAS—a beautiful way to start a new month and welcome another Sabbath.

This week we bid farewell to our longest-serving aircraft, P2-SDC, affectionately known as "Charlie." For almost 12 years, Charlie has been a vital part of our operations. Despite suffering an explosion in early 2013, it has faithfully served us, soaring through countless skies to transport people, supplies, and hope to some of the most remote corners of Papua New Guinea.

"This aircraft is more than just a machine," said Ni**od Betano to the new owners, Aero Dynamics. "It’s been a symbol of our mission and commitment, helping us overcome challenges, extend our reach, and touch lives."

We are deeply grateful for this aircraft’s years of service and wish it many more successful journeys ahead.
