--- Life & Truth School Impresses Education Department ---

We are so proud of our very own UPC Life & Truth Vocation School (LTVS)! We were asked by the Eastern Highlands Education Department to host an Inspectors' Meeting, comprising 15 delegates of Secondary, High School and Vocational School Inspectors in our campus for the three days. Our very own HQ Staff and our Tourism & Hospitality Students were tasked with catering for the occasion, and this is the report from our LTVS Manager:

"They have seen it for themselves. During the evening meal, the Assistant Secretary for Inspection (Highlands Region) said how impressed he was with the setting and preparation for their coming. Some inspectors were saying we used to attend meeting in other schools in dusty classrooms, unlike the A-One Treatment that was given to them here at the UPC HQ. All the Inspectors spoke highly of the setting, the venue and the food. They are anticipating to host more meetings at our place in the future. They rated us as number one and best host. The Senior Inspector for Secondary Schools said he wants to bring all his High School Principals to have their next meeting at our UPC HQ. Many inspectors confess we have never seen two schools operating in one area (Bible School and Vocational School). After today they will take back the news of what they have seen."

So thankful to see that our name and reputation for quality education is going out into the community! There's never been a better time to come to Bible School... you get to learn the Word of God, and at the same time, you attend Vocational Training to build your life skills and make you a dedicated worker for God!

Special thanks to our LTVS Manager, and all the Vocational & Bible School teachers and HQ Staff, who are working hard to make the Bible School & Vocational School a success story for Papua New Guinea!

Bro Melky Hakopes and his new church in Arawa, Bougainville, have done an amazing job in their Thanksgiving Offering. The brand new church pastored by Bro Melky has given K1,435 for their Thanksgiving Offering, out-giving many bigger churches on the mainland.

Bro Melky graduated from Bible School last year and returned to his home island of Bougainville to start a church. The church in Arawa is new but growing!

Thank you Bro Melky and Arawa Church for inspiring us all! You are showing a great example to Papua New Guinea all the way from AROB! 🇵🇬 The Bible School is proud of you!

You can see from the photos that Bro Melky is a teacher and has his blackboard filled with teaching that he gained during his time at Bible School.

Remember to pray for Arawa Church, Bougainville Island, and Pastor Melky and his wife!

This Sunday May 31st is Thanksgiving Sunday!

--- WHAT IS THANKSGIVING DAY? ---
Thanksgiving Day is a special day for every member of the United Pentecostal Assemblies. On this day, we remember how God has blessed us through the year, and give an offering in Thanksgiving. On this day, every member in Papua New Guinea will give an offering to help the work of God in PNG. We are asking every member to give K50 minimum on our National Thanksgiving Day Offering, May 31, 2026.

--- WHAT IS IT FOR? ---
Thanksgiving Day does SO MANY THINGS! It is BUIDLING OUR TOMORROW! It has raised the standard of the UPA and developed our Organization. Here is an example of what your Thanksgiving Offering does:

Funds Infrastructure Development
Funds Land Purchases
Funds Mission Zones churches, land and sending new missionaries
Funds Region Development and Travel
Funds our National Headquarters and Bible School
Purchases new Equipment
Supports Pacific Region Missions to our fellow Pacific Nations
Supports Evangelism and Outreach
And most importantly...
Saves Souls for the Kingdom!

We have changed the date to MAY 31, 2026. The reason for the new date is so we can make better use of the July Holidays. Please spread this awareness around and be ready to give on May 31.

This Pentecost Sunday, let me take you on a trip to Kauna Village on Buka Island, Autonomous Region of Bougainville.  This is a brand-new church, pastored by Home Missionary Dicky (Fred) Dehe, and is a daughter work of Tanhil Church, pastored by Sis Hillary Bethsiva.

Buka Island is one of the farthermost islands away from the mainland of Papua New Guinea, right on the border with the neighbouring country of Solomon Islands. How exciting to see the gospel spreading to every corner !

Your Thanksgiving Offering is helping the saints in MANUS ISLAND! It was your Thanksgiving which purchased the block of land in Lorengau, Manus Island, where Home Missionary Ate Kola is pastoring with his family. Now, Papua New Guinea is partnering with the USA... we bought the land, USA is funding the building. Thank God for this partnership!

It is your Thanksgiving Offering that is making this possible, and will open more doors for development in our nation.

Remember, 31st May is National Thanksgiving Day. We are asking every church member to remember what God has done in your life, and give an offering in Thanksgiving to help spread the gospel around PNG. K50 is minimum, but if God has been good... give according to God's goodness!
