This is the kind of Orthodox teaching my Bishop Felix Orji teaches us💪🏾✝️
DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY SIGNS & WONDERS!!!
“”For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect”. (Matthew 24:24)
“The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12).
The popular expression “What God cannot do does not exist” is, sine dubitatione, a false statement and has unfortunately been used to justify false signs and wonders. As Dr Steven Lawson writes “There are things God cannot do. He cannot sin. He cannot break His word. He cannot forsake His people. He cannot remember their sins.” God is the omnipotent sovereign Lord of the universe who does and can do mighty things that are in line with his character, wisdom, plan, and purpose. But there are things that exist that God CANNOT do. False prophecies exist, fake miracles exist, witchcraft exists, foolishness exists, and wickedness exists but God cannot do those things. God cannot do miracles that undermine his character and purpose. The Bible warns us that the “lawless one or man of sin”, false prophets, and false Christs will do miracles and signs and wonders. So be warned because not every miracle or prophecy is of God. Use your brain and stop repeating a statement that’s neither true nor reasonable. Stop chasing miracles and believing every story of signs because that’s a trap of the evil one. Be wise and discerning. In 1 John 4:1 the Bible says “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world”. You have a responsibility to discern the true from the false otherwise you will be led astray. Follow Christ instead of signs and wonders. When you do that he will work the needed miracles in your life for his glory alone.
