Novena in preparation for the 7th Anniversary of the Dedication of our Parish Church and in celebration of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Days 6 & 7 • A Church of Service | A Church of Communion

“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another.” — 1 Peter 4:10

“There is one body and one Spirit, just as there is one hope to which God has called you.” — Ephesians 4:4

The sixth and seventh evenings of our novena focused on those who serve and the many communities and rites that form our parish.

We prayed in thanksgiving for the time and gifts freely given to parish life, and for the different languages, cultures, and traditions that are part of our shared journey.

Two evenings, two themes, with the same reminder: there is room for everyone in the life of our parish.

Our catechists received their mandate for the Catechetical Year 2026–2027, formally taking on their ministry of teaching and guiding our young parishioners in the faith.

We thank them for their time, commitment, and willingness to serve in this ministry.

A glimpse from the second and third evenings of our novena, as we prayed for our families and married couples, and for our prayer groups and the Legion of Mary.

As we prepare for the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the 7th Anniversary of the Dedication of our Parish Church, may prayer continue to bring us closer to Christ and strengthen us as one parish family.

NOVENA • DAY 1
Christ, the Foundation of Our Church

“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one that has been laid; that foundation is Jesus Christ.” — 1 Corinthians 3:11

From the grotto to the church, our prayers brought together the two celebrations we are preparing for: the 7th Anniversary of the Dedication of our Parish Church and the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

As we gave thanks for seven years of grace, we were reminded that Christ remains the true foundation of our parish and the centre of our life together.

May these nine days renew our faith, deepen our gratitude, and strengthen us as one parish family.

Christ, foundation of our parish, remain at the heart of all that we do.

Two families from different places, each making a church visit part of their journey.

We were glad to welcome parishioners from St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Abu Dhabi, and an Indonesian family from Qatar.

Parents of our Grades 5–12 catechism students came together for an orientation and briefing as the Catechetical Year 2026–2027 began, with an overview of the plans and activities for the year.

After the Mass came cake, games, and some lighthearted moments—a simple way for our August couples to celebrate their anniversaries together with their families.
