Celebrating the Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady 🙏✨

At Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Ruwi, Muscat (Oman), Bishop Paolo Martinelli presided over the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation, during which 78 candidates — including 10 adults — received Confirmation. On the same occasion, 35 young faithful received a special blessing, having already received Confirmation according to the tradition of the Eastern Catholic Churches.

In his homily, the Bishop reminded the candidates of the meaning of this sacrament:
“With baptism you have already become children of God. With the sacrament of confirmation, you too will receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit to participate in the same mission of Jesus, who came to bring the kingdom of heaven.”

He also encouraged them to grow in responsibility within the Church:
“From today you are called to become more involved in the life of the parish — active members of the community, living stones that form the Church as the People of God walking together toward the Kingdom of Heaven.”

The celebration was a joyful moment for the parish community, gathered in prayer to accompany the newly confirmed in their journey of faith.

✨ A Moment of Grace at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish in Ruwi ✨

On January 23, the parish community joyfully welcomed a relic of St. Padre Pio — a tangible sign of faith, prayer, and communion.

The relic was solemnly received during a procession and Holy Mass, followed by an act of veneration.

For the Filipino community, for whom Padre Pio is the patron saint, this moment marked a deep expression of devotion and trust in his intercession.

The relic “is a tangible link to Padre Pio. It invites the faithful to prayer, veneration, and trust in his intercession, strengthening our spiritual communion with the saint,” Fr. Stephen Lewis, the parish priest said, 🙏
