Wanganui Community Choir Wanganui Community Choir is a choir run for the enjoyment of singing.

We have around 60 members who come together on a Monday night to work hard, have fun and of course make a beautiful noise.

Some snippets from choir over the last few weeks.

Included are photos of our AGM where our lovely Lynne Smith was honoured with a very well deserved life membership, and everyone was made to feel very valued. Who says AGMs have to be dry and boring. 🩷

We all look forward to our Monday evenings, where we get to catch up with friends and sing a wide variety of songs.

At our AGM on Monday night, the 20th April 2026, Lynne Smith was presented with the Choir's most prestigious award and was made a Life Member for her dedication and meritorious service to the choir over the 20 years she has been a member.

Sausage Sizzle today, Sat 18th April, at Mitre 10 Whanganui, 9am to 2pm, to help financially support our choir.

A reminder that there's no choir tonight due to it being Easter Monday.

I hope you all enjoy this little snippet of our choir accompanist, Shontae Arthur, delighting us all as our guest artist in our mid year concert last year, accompanied by Caleb Arthur.

All those present will remember how stunning her whole performance was. 💥

We're back!

I think it's safe to say that everyone was very happy to be together again. We've had an evening full of singing, laughter, and catch up conversations in our breaks.

We would like to extend a very warm welcome to all our newbies, we hope you had an enjoyable time, and we look forward to hopefully seeing you again next week. 🙂
