Here's our newsletter for this Sunday, 25th of August 2024.

"Waking up, whether you get up or stay all day in bed, you have a choice to make. Whether to believe in God or not, is a choice as well". This is only an introduction of Fr. Alfonso's beautiful and meaningful message in our newsletter. Please check our Parish Notices as well.

Have a blessed weekend and happy reading everyone.

What a wonderful celebration of priesthood in the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Tuesday. It is always such a joyous witness to our faith when the priests gather together, a comment from one young primary school boy "I have never seen so many priests at once!'

We recognise the service and upcoming anniversaries of all our clergy. But this Mass had an extra couple of special anniversaries to celebrate. 50 years of priestly service from Monsignor Leonard Danvers and Monsignor Joe Stack. Pictured with them also celebrating this achievement were Fr Wayne Healey (Dunedin) left of Leonard; and Fr Pat Brady (Auckland) right of Joe. Also in attendance for the special occasion was Bishops Steve Lowe and Pat Dunn, with Bishop Richard presiding over the Mass.

Thank you to you, the faithful who were able to join us for Mass, we appreciate there was plenty of travelling from all directions. It was lovely to see everyone mingling and catching up afterwards too.

Our next Kete Kōrero is due out next month and will feature more pictures from celebrations held in the parishes of both priests. Along with a few more pictures from Tuesday and their life ministering to the Hamilton Diocese.

This is our special newsletter for this Sunday, 12th of May. Happy reading everyone!

⌚ A short time Today’s reflection

† "A little while” occurs 7 times in the five verses of today’s Gospel passage. We have only “a little while” to bear fruit on this earth
† In a little while, in 10 days time we celebrate Pentecost Sunday
† The married couple Aquila and Priscilla were part of St Paul's evangelizing mission and even accompanied him on his missionary travels

What is this 'little while' of which He speaks? (Jn 16)
