We had a great time learning about 1 Samuel on Saturday! Rob helped us see where 1 & 2 Samuel fit in the big story of the Bible, how to find the key themes, and how knowing the author's purpose helps us understand and apply the individual stories in the book.

One highlight was looking at Hannah's song at the start of 1 Samuel and comparing it to David's song at the end of 2 Samuel, and seeing how that sets us up to understand what the books of Samuel are all about. God brings down the mighty proud and lifts up the weak and humble, and He does this through the King He chooses 📖👑

Praise God for the faithful and convicting teaching we're getting as Nancy Guthrie opens the Bible with us, and praise God for the many encouraging conversations happening.
