Youth for Christ has an international reach to young people.
'BRUSH STROKES OF FAITH IN LEBANON'
Even with war looming around Lebanon, God is still working – even through paint brushes – in the lives of young people.
At Youth for Christ’s Manara Youth Center art exhibition this spring, young people unveiled more than creative expression. Their artwork gave witness to a deep spiritual truth: faith in Christ remains firm, even as the world shifts. The theme was drawn from Youth for Christ’s enduring motto:
“Geared to the Times, Anchored to the Rock.”
For more than two years, the center has been offering drawing classes, and this exhibition marks how God is developing not only artistic talent, but also spiritual confidence. “We are ready for everything time – and the future – throws at us because we have a firm foundation, the Rock on which we stand,” said Rana, youth worker and exhibition planner.
One of the young artists, 16-year-old S________, said that as she prayed over her painting, Isaiah 43:2 and Psalm 18:6 came to mind. “When the waves rise and years take hold,” she said, “there’s always a hand – an anchor – reaching out to save you.”
S________ now sees her talent as a gift from God. “I didn’t know how to paint at first. I didn’t know I had this gift from God.” Now she wants to use it to show others who He is.
