The HOTA (Hindu Organisations, Temples and Associations) Forum invites the community to celebrate the Raksha Bandhan Festival hosted by BAPS on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Avondale, Auckland. The event, set to begin from 3 PM to 6 PM is intended to promote universal fellowship and the veneration of womanhood.

After the nearly 500-year civilisational struggle for Hindu society to reclaim one of its most sacred kshetras, the consecration of Ram Lalla is finally happening today at the Bhavya Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram, whose life is a testament to all that is ideal and noble, who lived Dharma in all aspects of his life, has been an inspiration for Hindus for millenia.

The same inspiration which galvanised generation after generation of Hindus with renewed enthusiasm to contribute to humanity wherever they lived in the world, and also strengthen the resolve of Hindu society to correct the historic injustice of colonisers.

Our gratitude goes to each and every single being without whose contribution to this immense effort, we would not be seeing this new dawn; not only for Ram Lalla but for the entire Hindu society!

Over the weekend, Auckland witnessed the grand celebration of New Zealand’s diverse Dharmic communities with DharmaFest 2023!

DharmaFest was an event to bring together New Zealand’s Dharma based groups, temples, and spiritual organisations to showcase the beautiful dimensions of New Zealand’s diverse Dharmic communities and celebrate Vibhinnatāyām Ekatvam - Unity in Diversity.

Swami Atmananda Puri from the Hindu community, Shri Hemant Vora from the Jain community, Venerable Rewatha Thero from the Buddhist Community and Shri Gurpreet Singh from Sikh community each recited traditional prayers from their tradition and blessed the proceedings for the day.

More than 40 Dharmic Organisations, Temples, Associations, Cultural groups, Exhibitors and Stallholders participated in this grand celebration!

Dharma-centered traditions, cultures, knowledge systems, and ways of life have found open arms around the globe. Notable instances include the practices of yoga, meditation, and mindfulness. Dharmic communities, whether they are focused on spirituality, culture, or service, have made significant contributions, benefiting not only their own ethnic groups but also enriching the broader society of New Zealand.

These Dharmic communities have played a pivotal role in advancing the values of pluralism and fostering mutual respect for harmonious coexistence.
