Pentecost Novena

We continue to wait and pray for the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Today Br Mickey McGrath's artwork reminds us of Pope Francis' words about the importance of women in all aspects of leadership and decision-making. As always, Br Mickey's Holy Spirit is hovering somewhere and occasionally contributes a humorous remark as she does in this image today.

It's good to remember that at both Easter and Pentecost and in the stories of the early Church, women were not only present, but active participants in the wonderful events which unfolded....and indeed, the Hebrew word for spirit, breath, wind (ruach) is feminine!

Br Mickey's words which accompany this image read:
"May the Holy Spirit bless you with all the good Pentecost creative graces only she can bestow." Amen to that!

Auckland Diocese’s Justice and Peace Commission says camera footage on fishing vessels should not be exempt from the Official Information Act, as proposed in a bill before Parliament, saying it would reduce the capacity for public scrutiny.

A needed update. Not for the photo op, but because those who desperately need the care will have greater access. This is a win for our whanau, tamariki, and the common good. Arohanui and well done.
