We are blessed, in that we have a faith community, space and time to share in Matariki Karakia (Catholic styles) locally. For those wanting a closer look at what some believe, do or celebrate for the “Māori New Year” and rising of Matariki in our sky, you can watch the broadcasts from Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, Tāmaki Makaurau this year – live and free (and from anywhere in the world) this Matariki holiday starting at 5:55am Friday July 10 2026.
