โ€œโ€ฆFasting is prescribed for you, as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may attain taqwฤ (piety and mindfulness of Allah).โ€ (2:183)

Taqwฤ is to protect yourself from the punishment of Allah by avoiding His prohibitions and implementing His commands.

When we fast, we temporarily make harฤm on ourselves what is usually halฤl (eating, drinking etc). This teaches us to say โ€˜NO!โ€™ to our nafs and inner desires. This helps our taqwฤ to grow, making it easier to restrain ourselves from harฤm throughout the year

Day 28 ๐Ÿ’š

There are two words which are light on the tongue, heavy on the scale, and loved by the Most Merciful: SubhanAllahi wa bihamdi, SubhanAllahi al-azeem (Glorified is Allah and praised is He, Glorified is Allah the Most Great).

Explanation:

The remembrance of Allah is what gives comfort to the heart and soul. In this hadith, the Prophet (๏ทบ) informs us of the great blessings that result from two particularly short phrases verbalized on a Muslimโ€™s tongue. The word tasbeeh means to negate from Allah every type of defect and imperfection. The most typical phrase used to do this in Arabic is to say SubhanAllah. The two phrases mentioned are easy to say in any situation without difficulty. A person can repeat them over and over again often and this is why the Prophet (๏ทบ) recommended it.

Day 26 ๐Ÿ’š (Laylatul Qadr Mubarak)

Signs of Laylatul Qadr

Only Allah has knowledge of Laylatul Qadr. However, to determine its presence we are directed towards some signs.

Two of the most authentic signs of Laylatul Qadr are:

The sun rises early in the morning without rays. Ubayy, (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
โ€œThe Prophet (peace be upon him) said, โ€œOn the morning following Laylatul-Qadr, the sun rises without any rays, as if it were a brass dish, until it rises up.โ€ (Hadith | Muslim)

It is a pleasant and calm. Ibn โ€˜Abbaas (may Allah be pleased with him), said:
โ€œAllahโ€™s Messenger (peace be upon him), said: โ€œLaylatul-Qadr is calm and pleasant, neither hot nor cold, the sun rises on its morning being feeble and red.โ€ (Hadith | Ibn Khuzaimah)

Try your best to catch Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Power) by focusing on Ibadah (worship) this Ramadan more than ever before! Therefore, by consistently making Duโ€™a to catch it, it may be that Allah allows you to witness this precious and powerful night and earn its rewards

And We have already created man and know what his soul whispers to him, and We are closer to him than (his) jugular vein.โ€ (Quran 50:16)

The dictionary defines mercy as the disposition to be kind and forgiving, and the feeling that motivates compassion. The Arabic term for mercy is rahmah and two of the most important names of God derive from this word, Ar-Rahman โ€“ the Most Gracious and Ar-Raheem โ€“ the Most Merciful. The Mercy of God is that ethereal quality that embodies gentleness, care, consideration, love and forgiveness. When these qualities are observable in this world, they are a mere reflection of Godโ€™s Mercy towards His creation. In this story we are able to see Godโ€™s Mercy manifest in the gentle way with which He deals with this last man to crawl out of the fires of Hell.

Day 24 ๐Ÿ’š

The last person to enter paradise will be a man who will walk once, stumble once and be burned by the Fire once. Once he gets past it, he will turn around and face it saying, โ€˜Blessed be the One Who has saved me from you. God has given me something that He has not given to the first and the last.โ€™

Then a tree will be raised up for him, and he will say, โ€˜O my Lord, bring me closer to this tree so that I may shelter in its shade and drink of its water.โ€˜ God, may He be glorified and exalted, will say, โ€˜O son of Adam perhaps if I grant you this, you will ask Me for something else?โ€™ He will say, โ€˜No, O Lordโ€™, and he will promise that he will not ask Him for anything else, and his Lord will excuse him because he has seen something that he has no patience to resist. So he will be brought near to it and he will shelter in its shade and drink of its water.

Day 23 ๐Ÿ’š

In the last ten days the Messenger of Allah would stay awake at night and pray the whole night not alone but together with his family members.

Aishah raแธyAllฤhu 'anha (may Allฤh be pleased with her) reported:

When the last ten nights (of Ramadan) would begin, the Messenger of Allah (๏ทบ) would keep awake at night (for prayer and devotion), awaken his family and prepare himself to be more diligent in worship.

The Messenger of Allah แนฃallallฤhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allฤh be upon him) said, โ€œShall I not inform you of the best of your actions which are the purest to your Rubb, which exalt you to the high ranks, which are more efficacious than spending gold and silver (in charity), and better for you than you should encounter your enemies whom you will smite their necks and they will smite your necks?โ€ They said, โ€œCertainly.โ€ He แนฃallallฤhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allฤh be upon him) said, โ€œRemembrance of Allah the Exalted.
