【Message from His Holiness Kyabgon Gongma Trichen Dorjichang】

It is with profound dismay that we received the news of the disastrous flash flood that befell northern Nepal on Wednesday:

We are ardently praying for all those who have lost their lives in this devastating disaster, and we offer our heartfelt condolences to the loved ones that they have left behind.

We also dedicate our most fervent prayers for the alleviation of the incalculable amount of suffering that this tragedy has brought with it, with whole communities rendered homeless and bereft of all means of sustaining themselves. We pray that they can swiftly rebuild their lives.

We would like to express our immense gratitude to those who put their own lives at risk to rescue victims. May they be successful in their efforts to bring the afflicted to safety.
