Foundation We Are initiates, curates and researches collaborations between creatives and experts on societal transitions.

We are happy to have seen our space fill with people over the past few days, sharing their ideas and collective responses.

If you haven’t stopped by yet, today is your last chance to experience the other activations and installations taking place in our space as part of Dutch Design Week | DDW.

Our exhibition, The Collective Response, will remain open until 3 January, so you still have time to visit after Dutch Design Week ends.

What if everyday people would have an impact on democratic decisions? This is what , a Dutch non-profit organization, is making real. They promote, advise and support citizens assemblies (burgerberaden) and form groups groups of randomly selected, representative citizens who come together to advise politicians on complex societal issues.  In this installation you can become part of an citizen assembly. You can join the dialogue with strangers and together you can learn, discuss and develop fair approcahed for complex societal issues. A way of collectively working together and designing a blueprint for our possible futures.

Deheerr de Man is starting the evening with some eclectic mix synth(pop) music, avant funk, electronix and atmospheric jungle.

clara ⋆｡°✩ tjuvstart will dive into the low ends, compiling textures and vibrations with ethereal vocals- a mix of jazz, dub, ambient and triphop

20:00 - 22:30
Felix Bell will bring some hip-hop and jazzy dubs from his vinyl and CD collection to warm up into then the dutch design week closing. epal () will bring a slow and steady set with a mix of ambient, dubbed out electro, the pitched down goodies

Ivna Ji will close the night with a deep dive into experimental electronics, electro, broken beats, dub and bass, moving between club rhythms and unexpected turns.

Another work in our exhibition "The Collective Response – Design for Shared Action" is by of Questions Collective. You will find yourself standing before an enlarged inflatable body that fills the space, its sheer scale shifting your perspective and inviting you to consider the power of the human body.

Our bodies can be tools of protest: a way to stand up for what we believe in, challenge the status quo, and make our voices heard. Whether we act individually or come together as a collective, there is power in showing up with our bodies. When individual voices and gestures unite, they can grow into something much bigger: a movement. This work reminds us not to underestimate what our bodies can do when we come together to stand for what matters.

Further into the exhibition "The Collective Response – Design for Shared Action", you will encounter a pool-inspired installation by Extra Practice, a workspace and group of designers based in the north of Rotterdam. "The Income Pool" is their response to today’s working culture, which often lacks care, support, connection, and a deeper sense of purpose. After years of sharing a workspace and supporting one another’s practices, the collective took a step further this year: pooling all their income into a single bank account and redistributing it as a stable monthly wage for each member.

The installation offers a glimpse into their process of building this collective support system and invites you to reflect on alternative ways of working and living together. Would you take the plunge and join The Income Pool? And if so, who would you invite to dive in with you?

At the entrance to our exhibition "The Collective Response – Design for Shared Action", you will find the work of YAMUNA FORZANI KNITTED ART, a multidisciplinary artist and q***r activist. You are invited to take a seat among the pillows draped around the tapestry, rest for a while, and become part of the installation through an act of collective rest. Take your time and reflect on what it means to be part of a community. How do we find connection and a sense of belonging within the communities we are part of?

Come listen. Come linger. The altar of sound will be opened!
