*Finding Light in the dark & cold winter*
December and January are cold and dark, and every person experiences such periods in their lives. But light and darkness exist simultaneously, just like cold and warmth. In three meetings, we will search for that light and warmth together. Life is full of change.

December en januari zijn koud en donker, en iedereen kent ook zulke periodes in zijn of haar leven. Maar licht en duisternis zijn naast elkaar, net zoals kou en warmte. In drie bijeenkomsten gaan wij samen op zoek naar die licht en warmte. Het leven is vol met verandering.
Laten we samen komen en van elkaar leren!

Last year we went to the MUSEUM OF THE MIND in Haarlem to learn about the history of Mental Health institutions in the Netherland. It was memorable and educative.
This year we will be visiting two Christian mental institutions in Rotterdam. JOIN US IF YOU CAN! See the dates in the flyer.
It is Excursion and Exposure the same time. Those who received Nine of our certificates since 2021 to 2024 will be prioritised. We are glad to see how participants are debunking the mental health myths within their communities. Some participants discover that misfunctioning mind can even be obstacles to successful prayer life.

After more than Three Decades of experiences in various domains, reflecting on racism and racist acts, I discovered something redemptive and liberating. I've shared it in my latest book to provide perspective for both victims and perpetrators of so termed racial acts.

The United Nations declared 2015-2024 as a decennium for PEOPLE OF AFRICAN DESCENTS. Recent political rhetoric in 2024 indicates that the UN's aims were not and may never be achieved, even if a century is declared. This context prompted me to write this book. Does racism really exist?

The new working season 2024 opened today with this feast of assumption. The first time celebrating it with the bishop of Rotterdam diocese in the Netherlands. Our mental health topic was the benefits of singing and dancing for the spiritual wellbeing. Utilising the African culture of dancing for their health and wellbeing. It was music and dance but also eating. Joyful faces was instant reward.

Keten van kwaad
De tentoonstelling CHRISTENDOM EN SLAVERNIJ legt de ellende en keten van het kwaad bloot van de Tachtigjarige Oorlog 1566-1648 tussen rooms-katholieke en protestantse kerk in Nederland. De oorlogsketen van kwaad zijn tot heden merkbaar.
Vandaag 13 juni kwamen internationale kerken, maar ook Nederlandse kerken bij elkaar om samen de tentoonstelling te kijken en daarover te praten. Er is noodzakelijk voorzorgsmaatregel genomen en ook nazorg voor mensen die na het bezoeken van de tentoonstelling gesprek willen. De opkomst was groot. Er kwamen interessante ideeën hoe wij als kerk met deze erfenis verder moeten. Ik raad ieder Christen aan om de tentoonstelling te zien en erover te praten. Tenminste, maak het bespreekbaar in de kerkgemeenschappen.

Today in Haarlem is the second time we gave CULTURAL SENSITIVE CARE training to Indigenous Dutch health care professionals and also some fellow spiritual caregivers.
A combination of training from non-Western cultures (Africa, Asia, South America, and Europe non-indigenous) for spiritual caregivers.
We compliment the participants for moving from conscious incompetence to conscious competence in a few hours. Though, the learning continues until unconscious competence becomes a reality.
I thank my fellow spiritual caregiver from Hinduism, Islam, and African Christianity for coming together to form this historical team and develop the special training. I appreciate my Hinduism spiritual care colleague Rawie Sewnath for carrying out the training with me. The training does what it promise.

20 YEARS HEALING MEETING

Yesterday, during our gathering on slavery and belief, we also read Exodus 21:16. “Anyone who abducts a person, whether that person has since been sold or is still held, will be put to death.”

This was one of the evils of the Netherlands churches in the trans Atlantic slave trade. Africans were kidnapped and sold to become slaves. It was a very interesting discussion yesterday. The participants used the opportunity to discuss the evil of sexual abuse in the church. The reactions of the priest on difficult topics, including the doctrines of the church, were healing and highly appreciated by all participants. The priest declared that this meeting should be repeated for the next 20 years. He wants the community to understand and heal. The flower with African leaf makes it special. Happy Keti Koti celebration.
