Bible Text: Revelation 11:3-10

GOD’S FAITHFUL WITNESSES

“And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth." Revelation 11:3, NIV

In every generation, there are believers God has set apart for signs in that generation. These signs can sometimes include persecution and tribulation. Our response at these times is what will show whether we are faithful or not. Today’s passage gave a picture of two witnesses that minster in God’s presence and have the power to defeat their enemies, and even shut the sky. However, it is part of God’s plan that at a time they will be overpowered and killed, but God still sent His breath to revive them.
God’s witnesses must be prepared to weather any storm that may come their way as they represent God. They should trust the God that they serve for total redemption and deliverance even in the midst of persecution. This act of unwavering trust in God is what makes believers faithful witnesses of God. As children of God, we must realise that challenges are inevitable on this path, but our God is able to deliver us from them all. Are you passing through one form of persecution or another because of your faith in God? Trust God to deliver you from all your troubles.

Insight: - God’s arm is not too short to deliver His children

Prayer: - Lord help me to remain faithful to you even in the face persecution.

Psalms 84

84 :

1 How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!

84 :

2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.

84 :

3 Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.

84 :

4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.

84 :

5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.

84 :

6 Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.

84 :

7 They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.

84 :

8 O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.

84 :

9 Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.

84 :

10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

84 :

11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

84 :

12 O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

Text: Psalm 107:33-43

Topic: DELIVERED BY GOD’S STEADFAST LOVE

A chorus goes thus: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceaseth,…New every morning, Great is thy faithfulness, Oh Lord, Great is they faithfulness.

The deeds of the Lord are great and awesome. The people of God were well taken care of, delivered from terrors of the season and the wicked ones. Our God is inexhaustible; He lifts the needy out of their affliction, causes multiplication and expansion, and delivers His people from oppressors. These acts of God should be praised and exalted. It is only the wicked who will keep silent and not praise the name of the lord.
The love of God is steadfast and all-encompassing. This love is expressed in Christ Jesus, who came to the world and died for our sins so that we can be delivered from the power of sin and darkness. What will you do with this Jesus? Pilate condemned Him, Peter denied Him, Judas betrayed Him. How have you been treating the love of Jesus Christ for you? The bo***ge of sin can be lifted right now. Let God accomplish what He has started.

Insight: We are expected to love God because He first loved us.

Prayer: O Lord, look on me with favour, make me fruitful and increase my numbers.

TEXT: PSALM 107:23-32

*TOPIC: DELIVERED FROM STORMS*

Psalms 107:23 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;
Psalms 107:24 These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.
Psalms 107:25 For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.
Psalms 107:26 They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.
Psalms 107:27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit's end.
Psalms 107:28 Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.
Psalms 107:29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
Psalms 107:30 Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.
Psalms 107:31 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
Psalms 107:32 Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.

*“Then they cried but to the Lord in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress, He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed.”* Psalm 107:28-29, NIV

Brother John developed some health issues before resuming to the University as an undergraduate, his friends got to know and decided to seek the face of God for divine intervention. He got healed, and also graduated successfully.
From the text, some of the redeemed of the Lord had opportunity to trade and work in many places including on the high seas, where the splendour of God is displayed on the waters, such as storms, to some and tornadoes to others. As a result, they were terrified but remembered God and called on Him. Thus, they were brought out of their trouble; there was calmness, and peace returned. As a result of this, people of God must praise Him for His unfailing love and H

Bible Text: Exodus 20:1-6

WORSHIP GOD ALONE

“You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God…” Exodus 20:5

Don Moen is one of the great Christian worship singers in our time. His songs evoke God’s worship because they are composed from the Bible. The line in one of his tracks reads thus: “Let every breath, all that I am, never cease to worship you.” God is always worthy of our worship. It is erroneous for anyone to worship God only when he feels like.
After the children of Israel were successfully led by God through Moses out of slavery in Egypt, He gave them the Decalogue (Ten Commandments). The first part of the Decalogue has to do with the worship of God. He warned the Israelites not to worship any other person or image except Himself. This is based on the premise that they were saved for God’s exclusive purpose. To worship another person or thing is to incur the wrath of God.
There are several things that people worship today. The list includes smart phones, cars, politicians, and money. Is there anything or anyone you honour above God? You need to repent and put God first in your life and your roll call of honour.

Insight: To worship God is to make Him the Captain of your ship.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to be fully committed to worship you with all I am and have.
