Finding Hope in Tough Times
Take a look around, and you can’t miss the suffering, grief, and injustice in the world. Maybe you’ve felt it yourself or faced your share of tough times. Grief can hit hard, especially after a loss.
Suffering often seems pointless, and let’s face it, we don’t get all the answers we want during these rough patches. The reality is, many questions about suffering will stay unanswered.
But Romans 8:18 gives us a hopeful perspective: “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” Here, Paul points us towards the future. Throughout the Bible, God is working to bring redemption and renewal.
Right now, we deal with pain and grief, but God promises a day when suffering will end. As it says in Revelation 21:4, there will be no more tears, pain, or illness. When we’re with God in heaven, we’ll be made whole.
Paul encourages us to hang in there during tough times because what’s coming is so much better. When we finally meet God, we won’t even think about the suffering we went through. That’s why he believes our current struggles are nothing compared to what’s ahead.
So, how often do you think about heaven? How often do you thank God for His promise of redemption? Take a moment to reflect on this. The more we focus on our future with God, the easier it can be to get through life’s challenges.
