TOPIC: Launch into the Deep!

Luke 5:4 (TPT)
Jesus sat down and taught the people from the boat. When he had finished, he said to Peter, “Now row out to deep water to cast your nets and you will have a great catch.”

Simon Peter had toiled all night hoping to catch some fish but unfortunately he came back ashore unhappy and worn-out with nothing to show for all the labour. While contemplating his misfortune, Jesus approached Peter to lend him his boat as He (Jesus) sat in it to teach the multitude that was hard pressed on him by the shore of Galilee. Interestingly, Jesus knew Peter's predicament and had a ready solution for him when they met, but the multitude and the message took precedence. Peter's willingness to allow Jesus use his boat, meant him waiting on Jesus and consequently listening to the teaching, culminated in Peter receiving a word that changed his situation. Beloved, your time invested in the presence of God and sacrifice made for the kingdom never goes in vain. "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33)". It's time to launch into the deep for a great catch.

TOPIC: Examiner of Secret Motives

Jeremiah 17:10 (NLT)
But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.”

There is a tendency in men to attempt to hide the motives behind their actions. It is however impossible to hide anything from God who is Omniscient. When God sent the Prophet Samuel to anoint for Him a King in the house of Jesse, Samuel was almost deceived by the appearance of Eliab, which could be liken with that of Saul whom Samuel had anointed previously. But God in His infinite wisdom prevailed on Samuel's human opinion, for the Lord looks on the heart, hence the unlikely David was anointed king. David, while handing over the throne to his son Solomon admonished, "...know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will found of thee..." (1Chronicles 28:9). Our anchor text goes on to tell us that the Lord gives due reward according to the motives of our heart. Child of God, serve the Lord with a perfect heart and willing mind for God is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

TOPIC: Word on A Mission

Psalms 107:19‭-‬20 (NLT)
“Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death.

Faith empowers us to see that the universe was created and coordinated by the power of God’s word! He spoke the word and it gave birth to all that is seen now. (Heb. 11:3 TPT). We also know that Jesus is the creative Word, and the living expression of God's Word manifested in form of flesh. Hebrews 1:3 (AMPC) says, "He is the sole expression of the glory of God [the Light-being, the out-raying or radiance of the divine], and He is the perfect imprint and very image of [God's] nature, upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power. When He had by offering Himself accomplished our cleansing of sins and riddance of guilt, He sat down at the right hand of the divine Majesty on high." Praise God forever! We came into being by the Word of God and we are consistently upheld, maintained, guided, and propelled by Christ's mighty word of power. As new testament believers, we have also received the Holy Spirit of promise; the Spirit of truth who comforts, teaches, guides, and reveals to us God's truth. He brings to effect and causes us to prosper. We are a people that enjoy uncommon divine advantage through our ability to receive and believe God's word for ourselves. As a people formed by the Word of God, we must also continually live by the Word if we truly desire to succeed as children of light in this dark world.

TOPIC: The Potter's Hand

Isaiah 64:8 (KJV)
But now, O Lord , thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

A Potter is a person skilled in the craft of using clay to produce various artistic ornaments/vessels for aesthetic or domestic purposes. The Potter has the creative prowess and choice of moulding the clay to his taste and for a desired purpose. From our anchor scripture, we see that we are the clay and the Lord, our Father, is the Potter. Sin brought about the deformation in man's life but God's grace has restored us to the way He wanted us to be. Like clay, be pliable in the hands of the Potter (God); totally yielding yourself and trusting Him to re-mould, renew, and transform your deformity into something valuable, magnificent, and useful. "For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us]" (Ephesians 2:10 AMP). Child of God, yield to the Potter's will by allowing Him create His one-of-a-kind masterpiece with your life, putting you on display for the world to see and give glory to His Name.
