DIVINE INSIGHT DAILY DEVOTIONAL
MONDAY 31ST MARCH 2014
TOPIC: COMING TO HIM WITH FAITH
BIBLE READING: MARK 2:1-5
MEMORY VERSE: When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven (MARK 2:5 NIV)

REFLECTION ON THE WORD
You may have been with Jesus daily either in fellowship, worship or any other form of prayer; but the only sure way to make a positive difference is to go to Him with faith. Just like in our daily human relationships where one can relate and interact with others frequently without any serious trust in them; many Christians have had daily interactions with God in terms of prayer meetings and attendance to church programmes without faith and that could be one of the reasons why things remain the same in their lives despite their fellowship.

Jesus is particularly interested in seeing worshipers seeking him with faith; for such he has never despised such people. Going to Him in faith means having extra ordinary trust in Him just like the four men in today’s passage (Mark 2:3) who opened the roof top to meet Jesus with their problem. That shows an uncommon way of trusting Him.

Also remember that when Zacchaeus took an extra step by climbing a tree just to see Jesus, the Lord recognised him and granted him salvation that day (Luke 19:4-9). Therefore seek the Lord with faith and he will never let you down.

DIVINE INSIGHT DAILY DEVOTIONAL
THURSDAY 27TH MARCH 2014
TOPIC: WHEN ENEMIES ARISE!
BIBLE READING: PSALM 3:1-8
MEMORY VERSE: I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side. (PSALM 3:6 NIV)

REFLECTION ON THE WORD
An enemy is one that sets his/ her heart against another either to harm or to prevent that other person from being successful. There are moments in our lives that we personally see the manifestation of such attacks clearly; however, such experiences are not new to servants of God; their attack may seem so terrible and brutal that they (the enemies) will assume that there will be no help for you even from God (Psalm 3:2); but the good news is that the God who is ever faithful and merciful is always ready to help you.

King David was one man that had so much enemies to a point that even his own son Absalom became one of his enemies; no wonder the Bible says: “a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household”( Mathew 10:36). But even as God arose and took over the battle from King David, He will also arise on your behalf and locate your enemies wherever they are manifesting at the moment in Jesus Name.

For one to imagine that even God will not help you shows the depth of hatred such person has for you; but God is immortal; he is ever merciful and gracious; therefore, let not your heart be troubled because of the enemies, for one with God is Majority. Nevertheless, the Bible says: “When the ways of a man pleases God, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him” (Proverbs 16:7).

Just like King David; give Him all the praise for He deserves your praises, pray always, study His word, live to be a man after God’s heart and you shall surely be a victor when enemies arise.

DIVINE INSIGHT DAILY DEVOTIONAL
WEDNESDAY 26TH MARCH 2014
TOPIC: AUTHORITY ABOVE DEMONS
BIBLE READING: MARK 1:24-27

MEMORY VERSE: The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, “What is this? A new teaching—and with authority! He even gives orders to impure spirits and they obey him.” (MARK 1:27 NIV)

REFLECTION ON THE WORD
Different kinds of Demons operate as evil spirits in the world; their mission is to destroy destinies, families, souls and so forth. As a child of God; you do not need to worry about their existence or what they can do, because Jesus Christ has given us authority over demonic forces (Luke 10:18-19).

All that you need to overcome those demonic forces is the presence of Jesus Christ in your life. From today’s reading, we saw that as soon as the demons recognised the presence of Jesus Christ, they started expressing discomfort through their host (Mark (1:24). No wonder the bible says in the presence of God there is liberty (2 Corinthians 3:17). Do you have the presence of God in your family, church, and business? If yes, then you have the authority that is above all demonic powers.

Note: demons find habitation in sinful bodies; therefore, strive to live a holy and righteous life through Christ, so that you can command even demon like Jesus (Mark 1:25) and they shall obey you without any choice even as it is written; greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.

DIVINE INSIGHT DAILY DEVOTIONAL
TEUSDAY 25TH MARCH 2014
TOPIC: OBEY HIS CALLING
BIBLE READING: Mark 1:9-23
MEMORY VERSE: “Without delay he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the Boat with the hired men and followed him (Mark 1:20 NIV)

REFLECTION ON THE WORD
To every child of God there is a divine calling, if you have been called by God for any assignment, you do not need to delay in obeying the call. Many believers having identified the call of God decided to despise it to do things of their own; in some cases they give excuses like pointing out their weaknesses, inabilities, and the like on why they refused to obey the call.

When Jesus called his disciples, despite their engagements and personal endeavours and adventures at the time, they obeyed without giving any excuse and we are all expected to do same. Of course if a man abandons what God has called him for something else, he may indirectly be calling for frustrations and failures in that thing which he values more than God. God cannot let you down if you follow his calling today. However, obeying the Lord’s calling is never complete until the assignment is carried out; for every call there is an assignment or a task attached.

Moses and Joshua were called and given an assignment to lead Israelites out of Slavery to the Promised Land respectively; the disciples that are mentioned in today’s text were given the assignment to be fishers of men (to evangelise and win souls to God). What has God called you to do? Identify it today and perform your duties (the assignment attached) that your joy and happiness will have no bound as you do so.

DIVINE INSIGHT DAILY DEVOTIONAL
MONDAY 24TH MARCH 2014
TOPIC: GET WISDOM APPLY WISDOM
BIBLE READING: JAMES 1:1-8
MEMORY VERSE: If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you (JAMES 1:5)

REFLECTION ON THE WORD
Wisdom is a principal requirement in all aspects of life because it is essential for a meaningful and Godly life (Proverbs 4:7). It is difficult to succeed without wisdom and its application because lack of it exposes one to failures and other kinds of challenges. What then is wisdom?

Wisdom is the proper use of knowledge to the glory of God. There is the wisdom that comes from God while another comes from man (James 3:13-17). The word of God made us to understand that there is a spirit of wisdom which is also the spirit of God (Isaiah 11:2); so, it is only God that can give it to whosoever that needs it.

In any area of your life that you lack wisdom; whether in the management of your family, business, office or the people under your leadership, just ask God for it even as king Solomon did (1 King 3:8-12) and you will receive it in abundance. You need more than knowledge to succeed, there are many knowledgeable people in the land but applying it rightly makes you a wise man.

A minister of God (Prophet) once saw in a vision how one sister in his church defecated in the church premises and on getting to the church the next morning; he saw the faeces by the corner but while members were expressing their anger over the incidence; he called the sister to his office, confronted her with the revelation and the sister admitted that she did it. That was wisdom at work because the sister would have been forced to leave the church without being saved if he had embarrassed her in the public.

Having wisdom is one thing but applying it is what makes you different. Pray therefore for the wisdom of God and apply it in your daily life so that souls will be saved to the glory of God through you in Jesus Name.
