SUNDAY SERVICE (24/05/26)
PST. ISRAELYN NNABUKO
TOPIC: OUR FATHER'S BUSINESS (LESSONS FROM HEBREWS)
Hebrews 12:1, Philippians 3:20, Colossians 1:13, Ephesians 2:1-6.
A life well spent is not a life that lives long; the basis of God's approval of a life well spent is a life of faith. Life is like a sport we are involved in; we are like runners. The race we are running is a race of faith, not a heavenly race. The believer doesn't make heaven; the believer is born into heaven. By the new birth, we are citizens of heaven and God is our Father. We are not called to die; we are called to live because Jesus has already died.
1 Corinthians 9:24-27, 2 Timothy 4:7, Hebrews 2:1-3, 1 Corinthians 10:32.
Because we are together with Christ, as Christ resurrected, we are resurrected with Him, seated together with Him. He has taken us from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light. The race of faith involves running and boxing (fighting) faith. The faith in Christ is not a new faith. There are three kinds of faith: the Jews' faith (Moses' teachings), the Gentiles' faith, and the Church of God's faith. Our faith was spoken by Jesus, then the eyewitnesses confirmed it and the apostles affirmed it; then it was handed over to us. Our faith is written, it's accurate, and it can be defended.
Luke 24:25-27, Romans 1:1-3, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:41-42, Ephesians 4:4-6, 1 Peter 2:1.
You are called to witness Christ, not to witness sin; you are called to tell people about Christ. Our faith is founded on Christ and His teachings. There is preparation involved if you want to run the race of faith, and Jesus has shown us the pattern. The life of Jesus shows us the pattern by which we are supposed to start the race; you start by reading the Scriptures, being a disciple, and seeking first the kingdom of God.
